Works perfectly & is pretty universal in terms of fit. For reference i have a top fin filter for my aquarium & it was so easy to stretch a little for fit & does not slide off, It is a good medium thick & valuable since you get 4 of them.

I had to replace the filter after a week of use due to a leak. These intake pre-filters do not come with that product but I wanted this product to filter out the bigger particles so it could extend the life of my filter. I rinsed this product before I put it into use (water ran clear) and when I changed from one filter that was defective to the replacement I wanted to use this again since it was only a week old. I removed the larger particles and decided to rinse this intake filter. When I did there was a ton of black particulate matter that rinsed out. I had to rinse it 3-4 times before it came clean. When I looked at my aqua clear foam insert it was almost perfectly white and when I rinsed it the water ran clear. the Aqua Clear AquaClear Foam Filter Inserts, 3 Pack is about $9 and change. the HuYaYa Pre-Filter Sponge,4 Pack is $6-7. that is a great value and a much easier replacement than the aqua clear filter but that means that my water will be cleaner and my costs will be less over the long term. This fits the aqua clear intake tube perfectly and it is quite durable and easy to install and remove for cleaning. There might be better products out there for the intake pre-filter but this one seems to work quite well!

I've been using these as a prefilter on my Fluval C4 filters. They work very well. I clean them when I do a partial water change, about every 2 weeks. I've been using the ones I currently have on the Fluval filters for about 2 years. They don't restrict the water flow in a meaningful way for a couple of weeks in my tank, and do extend the life of the main filter pad by 2 or 3 times. They fit snugly over the end of the inflow tube and are small enough that they are not an eyesore (my judgement) in my 30 gal tank. My only complaint is that they can be torn if not careful while installing them over the intake tube. Do that slowly and carefully to avoid damaging the prefilter. (As a bonus, while cleaning them, squeeze some of the dirty water from the prefilter into your flower pots for free fertilizer.)

This keeps my tank pretty clean the water is almost clear probably because that happens with fish water it’s not always clear but almost clear like it looks crystal clear from the front, from the side cloud-ish bit to be real I believe this keeps it clear yeah yeah yes or no answer but I got this sponge filter to go on my whisper 40-60 gallon hang on the back filter which is very very good and does it keep the filters clean haven’t checked because it’s been a few weeks since I’ve cleaned the two large size filters that fit in there so on and I got these because to keep the hob sponge filter cleaner and also to help beneficial bacteria in the tank keeping the clear and guess what on writing this review when I checked the filters there white 95% white clean of course the extra 5% is probably dirty fish waste but that’s awesome!keeps my tank clean and it this does fit I repeat the second time it does fit just fits the whisper 40-60 gallon hob (hang on the back) just fits it and my old one was bigger and fitted better and after hunting on Amazon for a few hours and measuring the OLD sponge filter to slide on the filter to go on the hob intake tube I decided on this overall good quality overall compared to my old one it’s 4 stars but since it WORKS five stars highly recommend to people that need it for the whisper 40-60 gallon aquarium Godbless!

I put it on the intake of my Marineland 350 hang on the back filter. I have 2 of these filters on my 40 gallon tank. I have 2 turtles, about 7 inches in diameter each and recently added some gold fish. It was a struggle to keep the water clear before i got the goldfish. The goldfish would eat/ mouth the turtle poop so it would dissolve in the water, previously i was able to vacuum it out about twice a month, but now its all dissolved. I added a 2nd Marineland 350 and still cloudy. I changed water 4 days in a row and still cloudy. I added these as a pre filter and got a Marineland Polisher internal filter and now my water is crystal clear. I removed the Marineland Polisher filter and the water is still clear more than a week later after i removed the polisher. I had to rinse the sponges after about 2.5 weeks because it caught so much dirt it was slowing the water flow of the filter significantly. I removed the sponge and rinsed it out and placed it back on, the water flow is back to normal. I havn't had to change the filter cartridge for about 3 weeks now, i usually the cartridges get clogged within a week.

Ok must replace often

Been very happy with the product. Required a little stretching for initial fit, but then was correct snugness for removal and rinsing. Catches a lot of particulate.

Works great, I have mine stretched over the end of a fluval 405 intake filter, filter intake it about 1.5-2 inches wide

Perfect protection to stop my shrimplets from entering the intake of the HOB plus now gives more grazing area for the shrimp. Even my Corydoras like grazing on the surface.
