Handy Addition to My Yale Alarm System
Packaging: The fob arrived quickly, was very well packaged, and appeared to be a genuine Yale product right out of the box. Design: Compact and practical keyfob that fits easily on a keyring; looks and feels like a genuine Yale accessory. It features a lock button intended to prevent accidental activation or deactivation of the alarm, but I’ve found this lock button itself is quite easy to trigger accidentally, especially when the fob is in a pocket or bag. Functionality: Works well for arming and disarming the alarm, with an impressive range (easily over 100m, not tested at full 200m). Occasionally requires a double-click to lock or unlock, but otherwise reliable. If you forget to use the lock button, or if it gets pressed by mistake, it’s possible to trigger the alarm or disarm it unintentionally. Set Up: Very easy to set up-just a few clicks in the Yale Home app and it was ready to use within minutes. Straightforward instructions and quick pairing. Overall: A genuine, easy-to-use accessory that adds a lot of convenience to the Yale Sync alarm system. The lock button is a useful feature, but because it’s easy to trigger, you need to be mindful of accidental presses. Minor issue with needing to double-click sometimes, but not a dealbreaker. Highly recommended for Yale Sync users.

Works well but not perfect
Overall I am happy with this fob. Our keypad is by the front door so this enables me to easily set the alarm when leaving the house via the back door to walk the dog. It is also light although a touch more bulky than I anticipated, just about comfortable for going in a pocket but you certainly want it to be any bigger. As others have commented, the button design is not ideal. It isn't that easy to see the markings and the arm button is raised and fairly sensitive. In the first couple of days I managed to start arming the alarm just by sitting down with it in my pocket or when grabbing my keys from the table. You can overcome this by using the lock button which I now leave on as a matter of course but that does make the whole process slightly more fiddly. It came in the locked position so remember to unlock it before trying to pair with your hub (Yale instructions are pretty useless).

You can't go wrong with Yale quality but the design is not the best with the raised set button

Poor design and best not to put it in your pocket
These keyfobs are not as good as the white kefobs that I had with an older Yale alarm system. On these keyfobs the part that has to be pressed to arm the full system protrudes, so if the alarm is part armed and the keyfob is in my pocket, often my movements cause the alarm to be fully armed, often without me knowing and causing false alarms. This also happens with other family members. The older white keyfobs had separate buttons that were flush with the body of the keyfob and this problem did not occur. I don't think that I would buy these again.

Simple device which does what it’s supposed to.

Poor design, poor function
As per many other reviews, design is poor compared to previous fobs. And actually rarely works. - Button function icons are embossed and you have to look closely to determine which is which although once familiar you won't have to look - the Arm button stands proud of the others and of the fob itself meaning it gets accidentally pressed ALL THE TIME despite how carefully I try to put it in my pocket. Presumably the designers have recognised this and have included the lock switch on the side, to prevent this occurrence rather than designing out the problem in the first place. Never had this issue with the older white fob for my sadly now defunct previous alarm. - Most importanly it fails, a lot. Aside from the accidental arming mentioned above, when I actually want to arm the system it fails to do so. The main unit beeps so it's clearly registered some kind of press but does nothing, rather than beginning the exit countdown. And even more frequently, and possibly more importantly, disarming fails. Again I get a beep indicating it's registered something, and a light flashes on the fob, yet opening the door still triggers the countdown beeps leading to a mad dash for the keypad to enter the code. It could be argued this is actually the control unit, since it did register the press but ignored, it but either way it makes the fob pretty useless. I have seen other reviews stating you don't need the fob and to use the app instead but this, whilst more reliable, seems even MORE cumbersome requiring 1, get phone and unlock it, 2, start the app, 3, fingerprint to unlock the app, 4, enter password for the app (maybe every couple of days this seems to be required, even the banking apps don't require this, ever, if you use a fingerprint) 5, finally click to disarm. Perhaps a homescreen widget would make this easier.

Good addition to my Yale alarm system
This is a great addition to my Yale alarm system. I would give it 5* but I find it difficult to see the right button to arm/part-arm/disable the system. I simply put a dab of paint on the disarm button.

Second remote I buy and this is failing like the first .. Works but design could be better as buttons start to fail in less than 1 years use. 🙁 Also button design is not good, not easy to see what is arm or disarm or partial arm ..
