Poetry is art the we need during these stressful times. To read and understand poetry requires a thought process that is philosophical and creative.

His poetry is as flowing, evocative, and moving as always. One of my favorite present poets. Definitely a wonderful read. Highly recommend.

The poems of David Whyte are philosophical , insightful and spiritual. If you are looking for poetry that not only is beautiful but also makes you contemplate and ponder life concepts and emotions....you will enjoy this poet. Quite a refreshing change from the ubiquitous "poetry" you find these days that basically is just someone's journal / diary entry.

Brilliant - this is actually my second copy. Loved it so much I got another in paperback to keep with me. There is nothing more to be said about any of David Whyte's books, whether all poetry or a combination of prose and poetry than they are always moving, beautifully crafted, poignant and honest. I have shelves full of poetry but Whyte's are among my very favorites.

Love to many of the inspirational poems in this book. It sits on my bedside table and I always find a line that connects..

Deep and lucid, wise and honest...David Whyte's words flow like water, sometimes fast and furious rapids, sometimes dreamy and star-filled. It's uncanny, I have at times opened the book at random and am always surprised at how the poem selected that way will either in its entirety or in a single line, address whatever I'm dealing with in the moment. My own copy is filled with bookmarks. I have bought two copies as gifts, but will have to get more; I keep thinking of friends who would love "River Flow," too.

One of the main things I appreciate about David Whyte’s poetry is that it seems to bring me back home to myself from the various and sundry excursions I sometimes take away. This volume continues to bring me back, but the richer for having experienced the places he has been, as well. This is one to keep and re-read again.

Whyte’s poetry is like no other. As someone who feels deeply connected to nature, but lives in a city, reading his poetry in the mornings has become a cornerstone of my routine and a great source of deep inspiration.

David Whyte has immidiately become my favourite poet. There is something in his words that touches your very soul and there is something in our souls that for certain reasons (probably when we are ready for it) resonates with his words that deal with life being painful, yet beautiful at the same time and how it is important to see and accept BOTH sides. Thank you.
