Great little grill. Hamburgers, grill cheese, eggs, grilled vegetables done in minutes. Love it.

I am having fun with this little guy
I am having fun with this little guy! Small, compact, easy to use, and easy to clean, enough said! It just wipes clean, it couldn't be any easier than that!! I got this after I saw it was recommended on an ATK (America's Test Kitchen) gear heads video. I trust them for recommendations on products, and I feel this one didn't fail to live up to their recommendation. I got this mainly with the purpose in mind to use it in our camper, it's an electric plug in device, so I won't have to fire up the cook top stove and use up our propane, and the fact that it's just a wipe clean for clean up, means one less dish or pot to clean, and so I also won't be using up our water either. It can cook up some eggs rather quickly and nicely!! So it is a win win for me!! Also with it being 8 inches wide it can fit a nice size slice of bread and can be used like a panini press but won't have the grid marks/lines, so it's a multipurpose appliance too. There is NO off/on switch, just plug it in and it's ON, and plug it out to turn it OFF. There is a blue indicator light on the outside top/lid.I have only had it about a month, and have had no issues with it yet, Basically so far I have only experimented making eggs and panini sandwiches with it but want to try out a few other things with it too, like sauteing some onions on it or even cooking a burger on it! I think the convenience of it, easy clean up and small footprint of it, would lend itself well for apartment living or cooking for one or two persons.

Efficient, heats fast, durable
Excellent pancake maker, tortilla warmer, likely also small pizza. Heats fast and evenly. Great addition to a small kitchen

Great for single-person bread/pancakes with some limitations
I've had this for a little over a year. I always struggled with crepes and pancakes on the stove, and this worked great for that. It's also great for omelettes. When using for those things, it is easy enough to clean and wipe out. This helped me work out recipes for flat breads, but it would be a bit better at this if it had controls. If it had controls, it would cost 20-30 dollars more. The only company that made a smaller grill with controls was Bear, but you can't get the small one anymore. So this is "meat the heat" cooking. Whatever the setting is, that is how you cook. I keep track of times to try to replicate cooking. With meats, vegetables, and other foods, yes, you can sautee foods. It would be better with equal heat elements and a lid that could open flat, but again, we are talking about much more money. This is simple, easy, and if you are a dough-in-can kind of person, you can do some creative and fast cooking with this including pizzas, pancake, and more interesting, non-American things. Unless it's crepes, you still have to flip it. I consider the lid something that helps from grease splattering, but know this will generate oil all around it. So it is better to use if you have lots of counter space, despite it's small profile. Grease leaks through the sides and makes a mess on the counter, even if you could use light oil. Do you have to use oil? Not inititally, but the non-stick does wear. I bought this at the end of Jan. 23, and the non-stick surface is now worn and everything is sticking to it. I am deciding whether to replace it. Most non-stick pans last at least a couple years. And no, I didn't use spray cans in it or harsh tools (just silicone). It just wore very badly. I have some little ones too that I use for small sandwiches and burgers. I don't use them as frequently, so didn't get the some amount of wear. I have used this almost daily. If they put better non-stick on this, heat controls, and true dual-sided heating, I'd be willing to pay 80 or so dollars because this is the perfect size for a single person. I love it. But I don't love the lack of longevity of the coating. Also, I find this absurdly hard to clean after sauting food or meat. I think it shines when used for pourable batter and eggs. Probably I will buy another and restrict my use to breads. Cooking meats and other foods seemed to be much harder on the finish. It's worth 20 dollars, well worth it. But I don't feel good about throwing another pan in the trash... Stainless steel might be a nice option, with removable plates. Does anyone do that? Non-stick always seems to fail to live up to its name... But not everything can be cooked in cast iron... I love Dash products. I hope they improve their coating and keep going with these round grill designs.

It does work as advertised
This product does, in fact, work as advertised but be sure you are buying for the right reason. It will cook your food, as promised, but it won't necessarily do it an better than a small frying pan with a lid set on low heat on the stove. I cooked a small piece of raw meat and some left over spaghetti on the side next to the meat. The meat was thin and was frozen when I put it in. I topped the whole thing - meat and side of spaghetti - with chopped onions and some soy sauce after first adding a liberal amount of veg oil to the pan before adding the food. I closed the lid. About 7-8 minutes, I opened the lid and everything was cooked very nicely. It was browned on the bottom, not the top. The meal was delicious and the food was nicely seasoned. Everything was fine...............BUT I could have done the very same thing with a small frying pan and lid on the stove set to low heat. I could have also done the same thing on an electric frying pan set to low heat making sure to put a cover on the pan, in either case. Where it would be more useful than frying pan is in places where there is no stove but there is electricity such as a dorm room, a camper or RV, a hotel room, etc. This device would be more convenient than an electric hot plate in combo with a small frying pan and a lid. It would be more compact esp for traveling, less so for a dorm room with a permanent place for the hotplate. One other consideration is that it takes about 7-8 minutes to cook the meat and a side dish in portions which would be enough for one person - and not one person with a big appetite, either. For example it would not hold enough food for a teenager or a young adult male. Another consideration is that if a couple of any age wanted to take this devise along when camping or staying in a hotel room, they would probably need two of them. It takes 7-8 minutes to prepare meat and a side dish for one person. This food would get cold while waiting for the second round to cook food for the other person. If two people want to sit down to eat a meal at the same time, then they would need two of these items to take along. Bottom line is that it is way too small to use if one is going to cook food for two people. It is ideal for one person and the food is very delicious when it is done cooking. It is also not going to be able to cook enough food for one person if that person is either a teenager or else a young adult male. It can't handle anything but small portions, at once time ,so please consider who is going to be eating the food. If you are going to be using it for two people or even one person with a hardy appetite, an electric frying pan with a glass cover would be a better option.

Had bought one of these a few years ago and really find it to be the perfect size. Hash browns/eggs/sausage for breakfast and a couple of burgers for Dinner. All turns out well, have used for cooking many things Fish, appetizers and the list goes on. Quick and easy cooking and clean up. Good healthy meals in a hurry better time and money spent cooking at home what ever you desire.

I bought this little skillet because I had an omelette maker that made half moons and I gave it away as I wanted my brother to try it and he loves it. I figured I would try this one to make a round omelette and it works really well! I find the skillet heats up very quickly and the omelettes are a perfect personal size. I tried cooking bacon on it and it did a great job and quick. So far, I’m loving this skillet. The cleaning is quick and little mess. I recommend this for someone who is looking for a quick clean up, quick cooking surface.

I bought it for omelette making, and it does the job. It is easy to clean, I wish the cooking surfaces were removable to clean them a little better. As soon as you plug the unit in it becomes hot. It would be nice to be able to control the temperature.
