24 Volts might be too much
I was about to return this. I wired a 24 volt DC transformer and the voltage on the probe read 23.5. It would not come out of standby mode when I pressed button A. I then wired up an 18V battery and it worked like a charm! Goes to 350 degrees in about 4 seconds. Solders well.

Excellent soldering iron for semi-detailed work
Great compact and well made soldering iron. Heats up quickly. I use it with the compatible Dewalt 20V battery adapter. Highly recommended if you plan on using this soldering iron while traveling. My only minor criticism, is the placement of the tempurature controls (up and down). If you are very focused on your solder joints, its easy to "forget" where your fingers are and you can accidentally alter your set temperature. Once you do it a few times, you'll learn to be aware of it. Not a deal breaker for me.

Fantastic soldering iron....and you can run it off off 18 or 20 volt batteries!
This soldering iron can run off a variety of power sources....including a bunch of power tool rechargeable batteries. This makes for a very portable device -- you can literally anywhere! the ability to precisely control the temp is also a nifty feature.

The last solder pen you will ever need..... almost
This pen does not come with a power supply and the Amazon recommended battery voltage is less than an optimal match for this pen. In addition, I bought this power adapter: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078RY7BPL As far as I can tell, it's a perfect match. (the 3 amp version, not the 6 amp version which is massive overkill) If you buy the battery, you will also need a battery charger (if you don't own one already). So you end up buying a battery pack, an adapter for the pen, and a battery charger. The cost racks up fast. But that will also allow you to use the pen anywhere - even in places without AC power available. Or you can just buy the adapter I listed, and plug it in. If your pen ever locks up (mine did once or twice while I was getting used to using it), just unplug and plug back in. It resets immediately and starts working again. The pen has no memory, so if you set it to 350C (default is 300C, which seems a bit low for most of what I do), it will not be set to 350F the next time you use it. Also, there is no button lock - so it is possible to go into setup mode by accident while you're working. And there are settings galore. Some you will use, some you will want to play with, and some you will find no use for. And that's fine. But having no memory means you have to set it up each time you use it. So there's definitely room for improvement. Light weight, thin, super fast to heat up, and lighted. This will get into tight spaces with ease. But it's not for the ham handed. Once you get familiar with using this pen, it's a dream to work with. But be warned. A battery, charger, battery adapter, cord, AC adapter and cord, a few different tips... add in some solder, flux, brush, and you will have a significant investment that you will probably want to store, organize and protect with a dedicated case. Not sure if the battery rout is worth the cost, but the rest is more than worth every penny.

NO POWER CORD
NO POWER CORD. After casting around in the cables I have lying around and splicing an adapter and cable combo that fit the device still wouldn't turn on. Not sure what power cable it needs but selling the device without it is a waste of time and money. It doesn’t power on from the USB connection.

GARBAGE!
Used it like 4 times. Worked well for those 4 times. Now its 6 months later and it dies. Guess thats what $70 gets you. O and product support has "closed"

Best Soldering Iron in a While
I've used a lot of soldering irons and I prefer a gas iron but for home and hobby electronics this is great. It didn't come with the cord and it may have said that in the ad but it is a great soldering iron and I'm very happy with it. For anyone wandering about the cord I bought this one and it works great. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07C4LGFVN/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

This thing is great
I use it as a portable soldering iron with a Milwaukee 18V tool battery and adapter. Works great and has digital temp control up to 400C.

Took a while to come to terms with the use of the iron. Once familiar then it is quite versatile. Coupled with a deWalt battery adapter it is also very portable.
