Pentair EC-160340 Clean & Clear Plus 320 sq. ft. Cartridge Pool Filter - Limited Warranty

I recently undertook a major upgrade of my pool system, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. I replaced my old equipment with the Pentair SuperFlo VST 1.5 HP pump and the Pentair Clean and Clear Plus 320 filter, along with several other improvements. The entire experience, from the ordering process to the installation and operation, has been exceptional. Excellent Shipping: • The pump and filter arrived flawlessly to Puerto Rico, well-packaged and without any damage. The shipping process was smooth and efficient, which was a great relief. Installation and Performance: • The installation was straightforward and seamless. I paired the Pentair SuperFlo VST 1.5 HP pump with the Pentair Clean and Clear Plus 320 filter, and the improvement in my pool’s water quality has been remarkable. • I also replaced all the exterior pipes since they were leaking with brand new 1.5-inch pipes, installed six Hayward PSV valves, and a Pentair check valve to enhance control and efficiency. Additionally, I fixed a hole in the pool, painted it, and replaced the light fixture with a color-changing bulb controlled by a remote. • The pump’s variable speed settings have allowed me to optimize energy usage while maintaining excellent water flow and filtration. The new system runs quietly and efficiently, with no more leaks and significantly improved water clarity. Before and After: • The before and after photos speak for themselves. The old setup with the Hayward C200S filter and the previous pump configuration required frequent maintenance and had issues with leaks and inconsistent flow. • In contrast, the new setup with the Pentair equipment has transformed my pool into an oasis. The water is crystal clear, and the overall functionality and aesthetics have greatly improved. Additional Upgrades: • To complete the system, I added a Pentair IntelliChlor IC40 salt cell, the corresponding control box, an Intermatic T104 timer, and two surge protectors. These additions have made maintenance easier and more efficient. • I also pressure washed the pool deck floors, which now look as good as new. My original filter housing just cracked (fiber glass). It was over 10 years old and in direct California hot sun so it was due to fail. Two local pool companies (Leslie Pool is one) said they could not get replacement for 7 - 10 days and a few days after that to have someone install it. Thank you, Amazon. Ordered and delivered in 4 days and it is perfect. I did have someone install it but after watching him do it I will replace the next one myself.

It was very easy to install. I was able to remove the old TA100D Sand filter , which had a catastrophic failure, I know it cost 200$ more the a new tank, but it the long run it was cheaper, there was no need to buy the sand again, the whole installation took me 30 min to doe. Most of the time was spent removing the old filter. The unit came with the 2” unions need to install, and I was able to repurpose the 2” PVC from the old unit, which saved me a lot of cash. The water has never looked so clear, I would recommend the unit to anybody that needs to replace their old unit.

Best filter system yet! Filters our pool great. Bought this along with the variable speed pump and it drastically reduced my electric bill while running everyday. This is the best investment for the pool so far.

Installed easy. It arrived broken. A small chip from the foot of the bottom half broke off. No big deal though. It works well.

It was a good replacement for my old tank. Easy to install. Works perfect

Filter worked well initially. However, after 18 month of usage it developed 2 hairline cracks inside at the base causing a slow leak. For the amount I paid, I expected to last a lot longer- I previously had a Hayward DE filter that lasted for 10 plus years. Since it is out of warranty (1 yr) it's my loss. Do not recommend this filter.
