Quality & "Made in USA" are becoming more important than ever
I am so glad I went with these training wheels. First of all, I like to support small American businesses if they produce good products. Second, these are much sturdier than any other training wheels I've seen on the market. I couldn't be happier. And lastly and perhaps most importantly, the products coming out of China recently all seem to have dropped in quality. Not that the quality was ever that fantastic to begin with but it seems over the past year it has dropped even more. I am finding almost everything I buy from China now is of subpar quality. I do not know if that is because of the pandemic and supplies are short or less Q&A is being done or if it's just greed. Whatever the reason I do not want to have to replace everything I buy in a year or two. I would like to buy something that will last, like my parents used to. They bought something and it would last their entire lifetime - and even be handed down to the kids. Nowadays you're lucky if something lasts two or three years. It's ridiculous. We as consumers should become smarter about our purchasing decisions. It doesn't take much time to do a little research and I don't know about everyone else, but money is getting tight in my household, And I've noticed I can save an awful lot of money if I'm not re-purchasing things I bought just a couple years ago. That's said, I'm very happy to support this company because they produce a fantastic product and as a bonus, they are a small American manufacturer. My training wheels arrived when they said they would and they are of superior quality - these are very sturdy! And when my 3 kids are finished with them, I'll be glad to give them to somebody else to use.

Sturdy and Reliable
We are using these wheels on a 20" bicycle we got for my 8 year old daughter. The previous wheels we bought would not fit the 20" bike, even though they advertised such on the packaging. The Wald wheels fit wonderfully. The wheels themselves are very strong and have been problem free for us. They have been in use for two months now and still look new. Our daughter loves riding her bike now! We did a lot of research on training wheels before purchasing the Wald brand. We are not disappointed. Thanks go to previous reviewers for their candid, detail-oriented, and accurate comments. One item to note: As described by other reviewers, the horizontal support bars that come with the wheels have a very narrow opening with which to attach to the bicycle frame. The bars do not fit on our daughter's bicycle, but this has not been a problem for us. More specifically, the vertical wheel supports have not moved since we installed the wheels. Our daughter weighs about 60 pounds and does not ride aggressively (yet), so things have worked out fine. Aside from the horizontal bar "issue", we are very pleased with this product and highly recommend it.

Training wheels
So far so good. Assembly was easy, unfortunately the secure/brace bracket cut-out was not big enough to fit around the bar of my sons bike so I had to hammer them to fit, which scratched the paint off. (These could be machined but not everyone has a tool that will do that.) I figure it's a boys Mongoose bike and for the price of the bike it will be in a lot worse shape when he's done riding it than worrying about the paint that got scratched off from hammering the brackets in place. They are so far very sturdy and work great, my son is 72 lbs and they are holding up no problem.

DO NOT BUY IT, JUNK!
This review is for training wheels listed here under name: "Wald 742 Training Wheels (16-26-Inch)" First the good, they do fit 26 inch wheel bike. But the good ends here. We did buy them on Amazon two days ago, we got it very fast with Amazon prime, but they already traveling back to Amazon... Verified purchase will be shown only until return is completed. After that Amazon removes that note. So we got it yesterday evening and install it on the bike. Installation was very easy, there was a green small paper with instructions, but we did not even need them, you can see that installation is very simple and easy. But now the bad part, material, steel, that is used to make these wheels is very thin. May be it is not steel, I do not know, it is metal that is all I can say. 125 pounds limit is a joke, may be 50 pounds, but not 125. My son (75 pounds) put it on his bike, he was not able to leave parking lot and metal bend. He didn't even reach 5 miles per hour, I was walking behind holding bike from the rear. I do not think think there was any heavy weight on the wheel but it buckled. I attached picks of the damage, damage happen the first second he leaned on one side of the bike. After damage, it was very hard to remove it from the bike, damage covered bolt and it was impossible to get to it. DO NOT BUY IT, JUNK!

Good quality product, but not for uses with fat tube bike frames
The Wald training wheel was well made and durable, so no complaint about the quality of the product. I had to give this item 3 stars, due to issues I encounter with my son's bike. This could of been avoided, if Wald would of identify the gap size (in it's ad specification data) of the supporting bracket , which clamps on the bike chain stay tube. My son has a Trek Jet 20 and it has over-size tube for the chain stay tube, so standard steel/metal frame won't have this issue. The supporting bracket didn't got over the tube, so it only made contact at two points on the bracket and tube, beside the main axis nut area. So, when my son apply quick heavy stress on the training wheel at hit speed turns, the chain stay supporting bracket would pop off and scratch the frame and paint job. This cause the wheel position to move out of place (not enough to cause a crash), but enough to cause concerns. I should of returned the trainer when I notice the issue, but thought this was okay, since Wald makes very good product. Once again, Wald training wheel is a good product, but not on fat tube bike; especially aluminum bike frames.

Easy to use. Solid product.
This is what I wanted. For different sizes. I put small spacers when putting on a bike and got extra 1/4" lower. Absolutely great product.

Perfect for an older kiddo just learning to ride!
Like a few other reviews, our son is over 7 and still learning to ride a bike. He's had some balance/coordination issues that we've worked though that made it pretty difficult early on, plus we lived in a very hilly part of Atlanta. Now that he was ready we're in super flat FL and he's 4'3" and on a 20" bike, and the other ones we've found on Amazon broke in a day. We were very disheartened. But then I found these! They work amazingly! So strong and sturdy, just super well built. And he's doing so well learning to ride! After just a few weeks I think we're going to be able to ditch them soon. This is as much a good review as it is a sincere thank you to Wald for making them. It's hard to be a 7-year old and not know how to ride a bike, and these have given our kiddo exactly what he needed to learn, and some much needed confidence in himself. So happy we found these!
