My young son decided he wanted a place to 'hide' his drawings and thoughts away from his siblings. Once we started on the hunt for something like that, all we could find were ones geared for girls. After seeing this one, we knew it was just the thing we were looking for! We got it in the mail, and it was shipped adequately, he took to writing in it right away. It is not used for anything particular, just fun. It is especially neat to him knowing he has a secret lock on it that 'no one' can get into! I think this is a great product for any kid (or adult) who wants a cool looking book to jot things down in. We would purchase again if the need arose. I bought this for my 9yr old son and he LOVED it. He thought it was so cool. He doesn't really journal in it as I had hoped, he draws in it, but still very nice. He hides his key and changes the key location if he thinks anyone may have found it. He literally guards it like treasure because the journal creates this impression that whatever's inside is precious...even though after he draws something he comes and shows it to me lol. It's really awesome how he protects it. I wouldn't hesitate to buy this for other kids his age.

Our son has been asking for a diary for a long time. We looked at toy stores, at book stores and at his school book fair. Every one we found was pink and sparkly, or had girl themed covers. On a whim I searched Amazon and found this diary. It came this week and our son was thrilled and surprised. I showed him how to use the little lock and where "we" will hide the keys. He ran off right away to write in it. The book itself is well made - a hardback type cover with lined pages inside. The binding is nice - no pages trying to escape. The obvious attraction for kids will be the "keep out" and "do not enter" signs on the front. The lock is a little junky, like the other reviewer said, but that isn't a big deal for us. If it breaks, we'll just buy him a small lock to replace it. For this price I don't expect to find a high dollar lock on the diary. The price of $9.99 plus free SuperSaver shipping (for orders over $25) made this a good deal. Especially if you've been unable to find a boy-themed diary locally.

He comes back to tell me that he is so excited to write down his day because of his new book. The book is sturdy and the pages give that old time diary look. It has a good enough lock to keep it safe. It’s worth it I would say. It’s the same colour as pictured and lots of pages. Valu for money🤗

This is a great way to get your kids to write down their inner most thoughts and feelings and have them under a false pretense that with the lock, no one will read what they wrote, but as soon as they're at school, game on. Crack this book open, start reading, then post all over your social media accounts, your kids' entries. You know, really mess em up emotionally, so you can either feel like a better parent for asking for parenting advice from other people who have no idea what they're doing, allowing other parents to laugh at your kids' feelings/ thoughts. or so others will tell you you're a great parent for sharing your family dirt with the whole world. Since I refuse to use social media anymore and have like 2 friends, my kid's secrets are safe with me because I have no life. But anyway, my son loves this locking notebook.

As someone that isn’t good with dimensions, this diary is SMALL!!!! Like could fit in the back pocket of your jeans small!! The picture is very misleading!! Again I do understand the dimensions are listed but if you aren’t familiar. You (like myself) will go by the visual!! Oh well!!

Got this for my 7 year old grandson and he loves it. He can unlock it easily. Loves writing in it and locking it up. Very happy with this journal.

Mein 9 jähriger Sohn wollte unbedingt ein Buch wo er seine Geheimnisse niederschreiben kann. Und es musste ein Schloss vorhanden sein! Hätte heutzutage auch nicht mehr gedacht dass die Masse an Tagebüchern eher an Mädchen gerichtet sind (Aufgrund der Farbe/ Motiven). Aber da habe ich dieses hier gefunden und es passt perfekt für Jungs. Mein Sohn hat sich sehr gefreut und schreibt dort fleißig "Zeugs" rein. Das Buch ist wertig und hat genügend linierte Seiten. Das Schloss ist ein typisches Tagebuchschloss und nichts hochwertiges, aber dennoch reicht es.

Uno dei pochi diari per maschio in commercio. Preso per mio figlio di 8 anni, restio ad esprimere le proprie emozioni, con mia grande sorpresa l'ha subito utilizzato per i suoi piccoli pensieri, motivato dal fatto che fossero custoditi dal piccolo lucchetto. Non é molto grande e le pagine non hsnno righe ma Sicuramente lo riprenderò quando avrà finito il primo.

Was bought for our grandson. Appears to be a sturdy little book. Has plenty of pages. The outside design is appealing for a young imagination. The lock could have been a bit better. If you unlock it, it has the ability of coming off easily and could be lost. Might have been better if the lock was fastened permanently at one side.
