Bead Crochet Basics: 22 Jewelry Projects

This is truly a five-star book, perhaps the first I've ever purchased! I've been trying to learn bead crochet and watching youtube videos. Ann Benson's animated tutorial was helpful, but at the critical step in the crochet process, she describes pushing over the hook the bead you're entering with your hook, sliding down the next bead, and then making sure that new bead SITS BELOW the hooked bead. I struggled and struggled with that, and it was frustrating. In the video that comes with this Candice Sexton book, the author shows that you just need to have the THREAD come below and to the front of that hooked-into bead. Voila! That made all the difference! Not only is the video extremely helpful, but the book contains clear instruction and a generous offering (22) of projects that range from beginner to advanced, simple to more complex! It's a comprehensive package on the topic (now I can deduce how those interesting snakeskin necklaces are made). Thank you, Candice! Beautiful job!

Finally, it was explained and shown on the DVD and I got it! So many times I tried and no spirals. Very clear and shown steps made the difference. Now I just need to continue until it becomes second nature. Thanks Candice. Recommend book for beaders who want to learn bead crochet. Love it.

The DVD is an added bonus that really explains the process step by step. Very nicely done and the book provides a lot of information and inspiration for patterns and colors.

Good tips on how to crochet, types of thread to use, etc. Not a fan of the patterns.

This book was recommended to me by a fellow beader. I'm new to bead crochet and I needed all the help I can get. The book has all the information I need to get started and and projects to get me going. I'm glad I bought it.

Very good easy to follow however there was a sticky substance on the DVD which I had to carefully remove before I put it in the player and luckily it cleaned up and played alright.

I'm thoroughly pleased and inspired. Can hardly wait to get started.

Excellent book and good to have the disc with it too. It helps with getting the technique started for those not too familiar with bead crochet.
