Alien Covenant: David’s Drawings

This is all about "DAVID" and his dark world. The book brings the story so much more to life, these drawings are both beautiful created and so disturbing as they should be according to the films story. So fascinating, interesting direction for a movie book. This is not so much a behind the scenes book as more the character's artistic diary.

Gorgeous book!

This book is fabulous. If you are a person that collects items in the Alien films franchise, this book is a must. It has a fabulous custom shell cover, wonderful book cover and the contents are amazing. While there are some movie franchises that are flooded with collectibles the Alien franchise is not. Great collectible finds are not readily available. The artwork is amazing and it is just superior quality all around. I can highly recommend it for a serious fan.

This is a truly wonderful collection for fans of the Alien franchise. Particularly those interested in getting inside the head of android David & witness his slow descent into madness. First off the packaging is great. The slip cover has a metallic tin-foil shine to it. Inside...two books. One is a paperback that serves as both interview and creative process walkthrough from the 2 artists. The second is a hardcover with page after page of beautiful/disturbing images from David’s experiments throughout his years of isolation on the engineer planet. This second book also tells a story in itself. As you turn the pages, David’s search for the “Perfect Organism” becomes bolder & bolder. Mixing traits of animals found on the planet, engineers, and eventually Elizabeth Shaw. The artwork here is beautiful and you can tell the artists had HR Giger in mind for a lot of the pieces you will find in this collection. This book actually makes me enjoy the film even more!

What a beautifully done collectors item for any alien enthusiast..

Horrible but beautiful drawing from alien movie

Product is beautiful. But the way it is handled and shipped is crude and barbaric! This is a collector's item, and its intactness is of utmost importance. And how is this item shipped? It is just placed inside the shipping box with NO CUSHIONS! No foam, no cushion wrap of any sort! I have ordered this item TWO times in a row now. First time it was severely damaged, the second time it still has visible damage on most corners! I don't know who is responsible for shipping this but this person has done a very inconsiderate and terrible job at it. Will have to return again after my first return, wasting all my time, again! Would've given a 1 star for the experience if not for not wanting to lower the rating on an otherwise great product.

I waited till the holiday gouge was over and the price dropped so I could afford it . Was worth the Waite ! A BEUTIFUL addition to my aliens collection . High Quality book . A BEUTIFUL book all around . Now just need to keep it in my room so Grand kids don't find it . I think it would give them nightmares .

Llegó en excelentes condiciones. Lo compré como regalo para un amigo que es muy fan de ese universo (al menos de las primeras peliculas) y le encantó. Es como una bitácora de botanica y anatomia alienigena con un gran trabajo artistico y con muy buena calidad tanto de la impresión como el gramaje del papel.

This book is just excellent, if you are a fan of Ridley Scott's Alien franchise then you should prolly buy it!!!!

映画『エイリアン：コヴェナント』を観て、デヴィッドの研究室のシーンにゾクゾクした人なら、迷わず買うべきです。手元に届いてページを開いた瞬間、映画の世界に引きずり込まれました。 ● まるで「本物の実験記録」 印刷された本だと分かっていても、手書きの文字やスケッチのタッチが妙に生々しく、本当にデヴィッドが惑星で書き溜めたノートを盗み見ているような気分になります。エイリアンの生態や解剖図が、古い植物図鑑のような繊細なタッチで描かれていて、グロテスクなのに美しくて見入ってしまいます。 ● 映画の解像度が上がる 「あのシーンの裏で、こんな実験をしていたのか」という発見の連続です。映画では一瞬しか映らなかったクリーチャーの細部や、デヴィッドの歪んだ創造性がじっくり堪能できるので、これを読んだ後にもう一度映画を観たくなりました。 ● 英語が読めなくても楽しめる 本文は英語ですが、正直読めなくても全く問題ありません。圧倒的な画力と情報量だけで十分に「エイリアン」の生物学的な不気味さを楽しめます。むしろ、解読できない感じが異星の資料っぽくて雰囲気があります。 ● 注意点（閲覧注意） 当然ですが、内容はかなりグロテスクです。解剖図や実験の失敗作などが容赦なく描かれているので、リビングに置いておくときは家族（特に子供）の目に触れないよう気をつけています（笑）。 ● 総評 エイリアンシリーズの資料としても、架空の生物の図鑑としても一級品です。ギーガーのデザインをリスペクトしつつ、デヴィッドというキャラクターの深淵に触れられる、ファン必携のコレクターズアイテムだと思います。

The drawings get more and more disturbing as you progress through the book and the squiggly text is a bit hard to read sometimes xD, but the book is very high quality. Definitely recommended for fellow David enthusiasts.
