Will hooking this mic up to a pre-amp with phantom power increase the quality?

First, this is a dynamic microphone, so it does not operate with power, so phantom power will not impact quality. Second, phantom power is carried by XLR cables - this mic has a 1/4 inch plug with only two wires (Tip/Sleeve), so you would be unable to plug it into a source with phantom power. (As an aside, phantom power does not damage dynamic microphones when hooked up using an xlr to xlr cable, it has no effect.) A pre amp would amplify the signal produced by the mic - in theory a good pre amp might amplify the signal better - with less noise. But then you would have the issue of what to plug the preamp into - whatever source you are plugging this mic into now would expect to amplify the mic signal, not receive a mic signal amplified by a preamp. There are work arounds for this, but they are probably not practical for a $15-20 mic. So the short answer is no, hooking this mic up to a pre-amp with phantom power will not increase the quality.

Ich habe das Mikrofon nur gekauft, um eine Vorstellung davon zu gewinnen, wie und wo die 7 Mikros (5 dynamische und 2 Kondensator) des typischen Mikrofonsatzes für drumsets zu positionieren sind. Ergebnis ist, dass ich auf ein solches set (wie etwa Behringer BC1200) schlicht verzichten kann. Nur lose auf der bass drum abgelegt, produziert dieses Pyle Mikrofon nämlich (mit vernünftigen EOM abgehört) ein umfassendes und makelloses Klangbild von der bass drum über Snare, cowbell, HiHat hoch bis zu allen Becken - dies allerdings in einem kleinen und schallisolierten Raum. Tut mir leid, aber dafür kann es nur 5 Sterne geben.
