What is the retracted length?

When we bought this on Amazon , there were all kinds of descriptions of size and length of extensions in detail do best go back and read description again

Will these work when using a continuous hinge (piano hinge)?

I think not. They extend flush with the mounting surface.

The total length of the desk I'm needing this for is 72" (or 6 feet). The drop leaf is only 24" (2 feet) of that. Would this fit my project?

I don’t know the answer. I used 4 of these supports for a 72” drop leaf.

What is the thickness of the hinge? i.e. how proud is it of the inside surface of the cabinet to whichh it is mounted?

Solid. Easy to fit. Shame the finger hooks (to assist pulling-out) are a bit big. Can catch on knees under a table. Essentially does the job well though.

I use these supports for drop leaf sofa/entry tables. They work great and are easy to install. Just a warning - the table has to be AT LEAST 16" wide or these supports will be too long.
