I purchased this product as I have ethernet throughout my house and I wanted to connect my MacBook Pro via ethernet. I only use it for internet. I have NBN plan 1000/50. On average with this connected I get speeds of between 880Mbps and 920Mbps. This is quite a bit faster than just WiFi. Note I have also connected it to a Windows laptop with no issues. The one thing I don't like about it is it has a light that flashes when it sends and receives data. There is no way to turn this light off and as it sits on my desk plugged into my laptop it can get annoying. A longer USB C cable or a detachable USB C cable would help with this.
