![Batman: Original Series 1-3 [DVD]](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/517h1tCvgEL.jpg)

All 120 episodes from the 1960s live action series following the DC Comics superhero. Vigilante Batman (Adam West) and his sidekick Robin (Burt Ward) fight crime in Gotham City and attempt to bring down villains such as the Riddler (Frank Gorshin/John Astin), the Penguin (Burgess Meredith), the Joker (Cesar Romero) and Catwoman (Julie Newmar/Eartha Kitt). In the third series the dynamic duo are joined by Batgirl (Yvonne Craig), who helps them in their ongoing battle against crime. Review: WARNING: Awesome series, horrible packaging on this version. - 5+ stars for this amazing series -0 stars for this packaging (look for the blue case version, not this terrible cardboard one) First of all, this series is deeply beloved for very good reasons. I'll go so far to say it's a labor of love, pure joy, and a masterpiece. I'm a millennial and used to watch and enjoy the reruns on KTLA channel 5 when I was a little booger in the 90's and, along with Tim Burton's take on the bat, I fell in love. While I do prefer a more dark and brooding Batman a la Michael Keaton, Kevin Conroy, and most notably Ben Affleck (Bale was honestly just ok), this version of Batman is a great family friendly take for kids to enjoy and introduce themselves to the morally righteous, philosophical, incredibly fun, legendary, and magical world of The Batman. All that being said, stay away from this version of the series because of the packaging. Some of the disks are packed in a very weird way where you have to press against two plastic tabs at the bottom of the disk slot and then guide the disc into two tiny slots on the opposite side. The plastic tabs are very stiff, and the disks aren't easy to take out or put back in, so this in turn is causing pressure and stress on the disks themselves that will no doubt result in either damage to the plastic tabs or the discs themselves overtime. Once these plastic tabs break, this will result in the inability of the disk to be held in the packaging and will move around freely and unsecure, scratching the disk in the process. One of the tabs on the set I received was already broken, so it was just a matter of time. Extremely poor decision going with this packaging by Warner Brothers, if I would've known before I wouldn't have ordered this version but looked for the one that has individual jewel holders for each one which causes no stress or pressure on the disks and is very easy to remove and place the disks in (which is the one I ordered after). I hate returning things to desertcart because they get it right most of the time, especially when the manufacturer should be more aware and careful of how they package such a wonderful series like this, so desertcart is not the one at fault in this instance. RIP Adam West and Cesar Romero (the standout stars of this show), and everyone else involved in making this wholesome series that has passed on to the next life, you will be missed. Review: Holy High Definition Hijinks Batman!! - I always loved watching Adam West's Batman on TV (He'll always be THE REAL BATMAN in my opinion), and when the only channel that I still had with DirecTV took it off the air a few years ago, I was disappointed. I have been somewhat hesitant of spending the money on the entire collection for fear of lackluster quality, but I am absolutely impressed at the stellar job that they did to re-master this series into High-Definition clarity on BluRay! It looks amazing on my new 4k UHD TV!!! The trademark 60's technicolor trip-fest just makes one sit and watch in "child-like" wonder. I've only made it through the first season, and have yet to watch any of the special features included. As for recommending this particular box-set - DEFINITELY - YES! I don't know how many extra goodies that the other version that's over $100 includes or if it's worth the cost, but I do know that this set has everything that I wanted, and has far surpassed my expectations in quality already! A must-have for any fan, and you can't beat the price. My only complaint however, is that plastic disc holders don't hold the discs in place very well; but the packaging itself is beautiful - great artwork and the small episode info booklet is pretty neat. I'm thinking about getting some generic cases for the discs themselves, just to keep the comic bookish packaging in pristine condition. A great investment if I do say so, myself. Jim Morrison couldn't have said it any better in that Doors song, "The End": "The WEST is the BEST....get there, and we'll do the rest." lol

This is Fantastic!
i bought these on a "gamble;" as i have every other set of DVD recordings of this series. (over the years, i've bought these from e-bay and a few individuals. all were of very poor quality audio & video) I just cannot overstate this: If you are a fan of this 1966 TV series, you should buy this DVD set! They play perfectly. The quality of the recordings is beyond anything i have seen. I am not easy to impress, but in this case i am VERY impressed! The images are clearer and more high resolution than you have EVER seen this show before! The colors are brighter than you've EVER seen this show before! This is the best made DVD set of classic TV that i have personally ever bought. It looks like it was filmed in high-def!

It's not the best packaging that's for sure
Finally! Adam West's version of Batman in all it's High Definition glory! The colors of all the costumed villains literally pop off the screen. All this and Julie Newmar in her skin tight catsuit! A little on the pricey side for the Blu ray, but oh so worth it! The only slight criticism I have is of the packaging. I wish they would've put each disc it's own section in the packing, which they DO with the season one set, which comes on three discs. The season two set contains six discs in a fold-out booklet type of packaging, in which discs one and two have their own sections, but discs three, four, five and six are sandwiched atop each other in sections of two, with the top disc in each section snapping inward and held in place by a groove in the bottom of the clear plastic disc retainer. The first disc in the section snaps in via the center groove, but there is no groove to hold the top disc in the section. What you CAREFULLY have to do is slip the bottom of the disc into the groove and GENTLY push each side of the disc into the plastic grooves. It's not the best packaging that's for sure, so you really have to be careful when either taking the top disc out or replacing it. Other than that, there are really no complaints regarding the quality or content. If you enjoyed all the zany campiness of this 60's series, you must get this set. And I say it's about time!

Will Batman and Robin foil the devilish schemes of Gotham City's most wanted ? Will the dynamic duo escape from each cunning trap and each near certain death ? Will the Caped Crusader and the Boy Wonder overcome the Penguin, the Catwoman, the Riddler and the Joker ? How about King Tut ? Bookworm ? Zelda the Great or Egghead ? And could this be one of the greatest comedy shows aver created ? Eat your heart out Christopher Nolan !
