It doesn’t have an EE key. It’s the 10^x key, bottom row, third key from the left.

Does it really graphs fuctions?

Yes. It graphs functions. Out of the box it is numeric only, meaning no CAS. However, there is a free CAS available from Bernard Parisse at Grenoble (University in France). It is called chi-CAS (xCAS) that runs on the fx-9750GIII. With xCAS installed, it will perform symbolic Algebra, Calculus, and graphing. Bernard Parisse wrote the built-in CAS for the HP graphing calculators from the HP 49G through the HP Prime, so he knows what he's doing.

Think of the Casio fx-9750giii not as the next generation of the (budget) fx-9750 line. Instead, think of it as the next generation of the (relatively superior) fx-9860 line. The best comparison to the fx-9750giii is the fx-9860giii. The fx-9750giii is primarily being sold in the US, while the fx-9860giii is being sold in Europe. The two have minimal differences. To look at it another, way, Casio added all the fx-9860 series features to the fx-9750giii, but they didn't change the series number to match it in the US. You have what looks like two totally different calculators sold in two different parts of the world, but they are very much the same. With that in mind, some differences between the fx-9750gii and the fx-9860giii are: 1) 3MB storage memory instead of 1.5MB from the fx-9860gii 2) An added Python implementation 3) The removal of the backlight 4) The resolutions of the screens are the same, but the screen size of the fx-9750giii is smaller than the fx-9860gii, though it is slightly larger than the fx-9750gii. I have no idea at this point if there will be a more budget friendly option like the fx-9750gii was to the fx-9860gii, but the fx-9750giii appears to be selling consistently well below fx-9860gii prices. see less

Can this calculator be used for stats?

Yes. My daughter successfully took the AP stats test using this calculator. In the time her teacher spent showing her classmates how to use the TI-84, she had figured out how to do the same thing using Casio's menu interface without instructions.

All Good - Box Was Opened

The calculator seems to work fine and It was NEW. However, for some reason, someone had semi-carefully opened the box already. I assume maybe they wanted to replace the batteries !!!? .. They could put a note and explain the reason. But over all I am happy with it.

I am an electrical engineering professor. it is a struggle to find an inexpensive calculator to recommend to students that can handle complex matrices! There are other engineering calculators that I like much more than the 9750 (such as the hp-prime (my favorite) or the Casio fx-cg50) but this is the least expensive of the calculators I consider "engineering capable". I didn't mention the TI 84 because it handles complex math very poorly, and requires "Euler entry" of polar numbers. The TI-Nspire can do it all, but has way too many menu levels to get anything done. The 9750 doesn't support CAS mode, and the graphing capabilities are tedious, slow, and poor resolution, but as an engineering calculator I rate it highly because of the complex math and matrix capabilities. I like the larger "graphing" screen for showing larger matrices (not for graphing).
