I don't like using traps
UPATE 2016 -- I'm still buying these worms and moles are still dying. We're surrounded by rural pastures, so killing all the moles is impossible. What these do is make it easy to kill the ones that venture into our yard. UPDATE 2015 -- After two full years of use, I'm ready to give away our traps. These mole killing worms work great! The secret is to use a dowel or something similar to poke a hole in the mole's run, not in the middle of a mound. Wear gloves, drop the worm in, cover the hole and you're done. So's the mole. I usually cut the worms into two pieces and put one piece on each side of a mole mound. FIRST REVIEW -- We've had more moles than usual this year (2014) on our five-acre rural property. I don't like using traps, because most require large holes in the lawn and the smaller type haven't worked for me. A shotgun has taken out six of the critters this year, but that takes a lot of time as I have to be there when the moles are pushing up dirt. When a friend said Tomcat's poison worms have done the trick for him, I ordered two boxes. In the first two weeks after putting out several of the expensive gummy worms, it seemed that they were acting like energy food. The moles pushed up holes all over the place. Then things settled down and there's only an occasional mound, none in our lawn. Truth is, however, that it's impossible to know if 95-degree heat or the worms have caused the slow-down in activity. Until we use the worms for a full spring-fall mole season, I'll give Tomcat a neutral 2.5 stars and the shotgun a solid 4.

Does what no other product/ method does - kill moles..
I have tried everything out there and all with some success, but none with the success of this product. I do have to add that you need to be extra vigilant for this prooduct to work. You need to look for new tunnels at least once a week, apply the product right away and keep checking back. If you stick to it, you will get and keep the moles out or dead. But it is an ongoing process. once a mole has made a tunnel onto your property, other moles will follow that tunnel, even after the original mole is gone. The best way to apply this product is to cut the worms in half, poke a hole into the tunnel with a 3/8" diameter stick ( I use a piece of 3/8" rebar), put the 'worm' into the hole, push it down with the stick, and then plug the hole you made with a rock. If you use colored rocks, you can find your holes back and check to see if the bait was eaten or not, also you don't double dose a tunnel that way, and lastly you can go back after a week or two and collapse the tunnels which will tell you for sure if the mole is gone or not (i.e. if the tunnel is not rebuilt, you probably got him). After 2 years of using this product I still have moles, but I bait constantly and I end up killing them right away which means they don't cause hardly any damage as compared to prior to baiting. I have 3 acres, so when I weed them out on one side, the other side of the property flares up. Also nice is that the product is under ground, where the dogs/cats/kids/raccoons and other critters don't accidentally get to it. Highly recommend!

Total disappointment
I bought this product with high hopes after reading the product reviews. Recently spent a ton of money re-landscaping our yard and putting down new grass. As soon as we finished Mr.Mole appeared and started tearing it all up. Reviews here were awesome so I gave the product a try. Used all 6 whole worms. Didn't touch the worn with my fingers or with anything with my scent on it. Found frequently traveled holes to put them in. Waited a week. No results. Mole still lives. Feel like I'm on "CaddyShack". The worst thing? Mr.Mole continued to use the tunnels I put the worm in, even pushed the worms out of the tunnel in a dirt pile. 3 of the 6 worm locations resulted in big dirt patches. Moles hunt by finding the vibrations their food gives off when moving... Not sure why I thought an immobile product would work. Time to call the exterminator. Save your money. This product doesn't work.

Very effective
Like another reviewer I did it this way and found that it worked: "I take a small shovel and lift up a portion of the tunnel, you can then see the tunnel and place two fingers in it. I place the worm in one of the tunnel ends and replace the dirt. I then go back and pull up the same plug and check to see if the worm was taken in a couple of days." However, I only used 1/2 worms not whole ones. They took it every time. The first day after feeding the moles, I found one barely alive up on the ground (surface). I felt sorry for it and placed it gently back into the tunnel, NOT! It was crushed immediately. After the first feeding, there was no activity for a few days, but some are coming around again so I will be back out there soon with these delicious treats for them. I also used the smoke bombs, but they did not seem as effective. That was probably because you need to treat the area near the den. How the heck to you know where THAT is?

Excellent Product, helps me get ride of moles on my 5 acres
I'm extremely happy with this product, I used to by the more expensive branded version before I came across the Tomcat version and have noticed no difference in quality. I live on 5 acres and constantly have mole problems. I have found using these worms to be the most effective solution for my mole problem in combination with Sweeney's. Once the mole hills start popping up I immediately stomp them down, after a day I look for active tunnel use and proceed put the worms in the bigger mounds and sweeney in the smaller ones, this way I get maximum poison in the tunnels. After a couple days I normally see zero activity and typically don't have to apply again for a season. The reason why I use sweeney's with this product is that it is a cheaper alternative to get maximum coverage, though it should be noted that sweeney's by itself typically isn't as effective as the worms.
