Love this keyboard!
I constantly work on my surface pro 7+ just about as much, if not more than my desktop! With that being said there were some additions that I really wanted to upgrade - the keyboard being one of them. I used to always have to carry a spare portable keyboard and mouse whenever I wanted to put my surface pro o a stand, but with this bluetooth keyboard, all I have to do is bring the stand and im good to go! I also plugged the keyboard into my surface pro when using it connected, to always stay charged. One thing to keep in mind when if youre not careful, is if you get heavy into your work and forget to have this plugged in, it can turn off on you! No worries though, just flip the switch off and plug it in for about 30 seconds and turn back on while plugged it to continue using. One thing that would make this absolutely perfect, would be if it had the ability to detect when it is being connected to the surface pro. I get that im asking a lot or a dated surface pro, but that would make it primo. I've since gotten used to it, but it's also be nice to have the same volume layout as the regular keyboard too, as this one makes you hold Fn + up/down arrow, meaning it takes 2 hands to adjust the volume. But other than that its also very light - about the same as the regular surface keyboard, which is really cool because i remember getting one once that was way noticeably heavier. This also comes with a backlight which is super important if youre someone who works at night or in the dark, and you can even change the color and brightness! Overall Id say if youre on the fence, you'll definately be happy you got this!

Works well - good for the price.
Fits and works well with my MS Surface; however, the USB charging cable is too short to my liking - two feet longer would’ve been better. I like the dim lighting and soft keypads on the keyboard. Seems to have a strong, solid case.

Excellent option for a college student on a tight budget
This is a functional and well designed keyboard for a college student on a tight budget. My son uses his surface pro every single day. We found that using the surface pro significantly cuts down on the use of paper especially for a notetaking during lectures. We previously purchased a differentkeyboard within the same price range as this item. We were fortunate to have the opportunity to get this keyboard, and it’s definitely an upgrade. Given our previous experience, this is a better value. The previous keyboard was acceptable, but it had a few glitches. Sometimes there was a delay and it didn’t have the back lit keys,. This one has the backlit keys and has better Bluetooth connectivity because there’s no problems with delays. This was easy to set up and it’s easy to use. Keep in mind that this is a basic keyboard that isn’t going to have all the bells and whistles and perform as well as the name brand, but this significantly cheaper. So as long as you know that you aren’t I’m getting a fancy top-of-the-line keyboard and you have reasonable expectations, this is an excellent option.

Paired to my Surface no problem
It connected with my Surface okay and it works. You do need to charge it up before using and there's a USB-C port on the side, as well as a small power switch. Some of the keys are a bit different from the keyboard that came with my Surface, but my old keyboard was literally falling apart and I needed a replacement, and this one paired easily and it works as intended. The keys feel similar to my original keyboard. It has the same kind of felt feeling to the cover and the little mouse pad works. It's an acceptable replacement.

A serviceable replacement, but be prepared to give up those creature comforts you're so used to.
It should be no surprise to anyone reading this that the type covers that Microsoft sells for its line of Surface devices are abhorrently overpriced. If they weren't, none of us would be here right now, would we? So, like everyone else, I decided to give a third-party replacement type cover a try. The keyboard that came with my Surface Pro 7+ has been through some wear and tear over the years, so I got pretty excited when I saw this pop up on my screen. But I knew right away to temper my expectations. I knew the second that I saw this was Bluetooth keyboard, it wouldn't be the same. Throwing caution to the wind, I decided to give it a try anyway. What do I have to lose? Well, the first thing you lose is the quality the Microsoft one brings. The material on the outside of this one actually isn't bad, but the keyboard is not very good. The keys are very slick and slippery, making a squeaking noise when you run your fingers on them. It types just fine, but it's a clear downgrade from the OEM/Microsoft version. The next thing you lose is a direct connection with your device. This keyboard does not interact with the connectors on the bottom of the Surface, meaning it isn't getting power from the device. So yeah, you have to charge this thing. And the battery does not last very long. I guess you could just leave it plugged in with the included USB cable, but that's a port taken up by something that used to be seamless. You also lose the ability to sleep the device by closing it. This is a feature I used basically every time I turned on my Surface Pro 7+, so losing this is a big deal for me. Surprisingly, the trackpad does work with the typical finger gestures you have come to expect with the Surface, so that's a plus. It also does magnetically fit to the device like normal, but again, no connectivity. Really, I guess your enjoyment of this product is going to be heavily based on if you're willing to give up what makes having a Surface worth it. Yes, this does technically function as a type cover/keyboard, but it loses a lot of what makes an original Microsoft one so great. I hate that the OEM ones are so expensive, but this just does not cut it for me. 3 stars for actually functioning, but I will only keep this as an emergency backup.

Actually prefer it over the newer factory model
Connected to our Surface immediately, fits just like the factory OEM models at a fraction of the cost. Worked immediately out of the box, extremely simple. In terms of quality, the build quality of the factory is a bit better BUT at this price its very hard to argue especially when you compare it to the NEWEST factory models that really don't feel very substantial even compared to this one.
