This is simply a great camera and the kit provides excellent value including the remote, small handle-tripod and external microphone. On-board camera audio quality is already excellent and the external microphone makes it better and more directional and the fuzzy dead-cat helps suppress wind noise nicely. The camera itself is super a the RF lenses are fantastic even the included kit lens works perfectly and its image stabilization in the the lens (IS) works very well. While the kit lens aperture isn’t the fastest the R8 can still make excellent photographs with its larger full-size sensor. This camera has helped teach me the basics of photography and allows plenty of advanced capabilities for me to grow into with more experience.

What I like: The size, the amount of accessories, the speed it takes photos, taking 4k and slow motion footage, the ability to adapt older lenses to this camera, the wireless shutter features if your shutter port ever busts. What I don't like: Price is a little steep, the battery sucks and how canon tries to prevent you from using 3rd party batteries (you can get around this with an adapter). My camera arrived with a pushed in shutter port - canon fixed this right away with their warranty service - this is the only thing I docked a point for.

This camera is fantastic. It had been a long time since I upgraded so maybe I’m a little out of the loop, but I am amazed. I was worried that maybe phones had made cameras obsolete, but not even close. I’m including a photo taken with iPhone 16 pro and this camera with an amazing lens ( RF24-70mm F2.8L IS USM) and the difference is more than obvious. It’s also so light. Much lighter than my last canon which wasn’t full frame or mirrorless. I LOVE it

So far, I love. By no means am I an expert but always wanted to learn photography. Did a lot of research and this product is a great starting point all the way up to professionals.
