Woks great, handled all types of line easily. Quick and clean. Small enough to leave clipped to your belt and not in the way.

This is a great little tool to have on the boat or on shore with you. Not only do I use it to cut line I also use it to cut the spines off of spiny fish when I’m using them for bait. The fact they are so inexpensive is great because you can have a few more of them laying around for convenience and accessibility.

Kast King 4.5" fishing scissors. I like the smaller size ones because I'm primarily just cutting line and don't want them taking up too much space. They are sharp and cut similarly to the other brand I've used for several years. You can cut mono/fluoro line anywhere along the blade. Braid doesn't really cut well at the tip but the back half of the blade cuts it very cleanly. They come with a lanyard and scabbard. There's a hole on the handle and the scabbard, so you have options to tie the included lanyard (or another of your choice). The scabbard holds the blade fast enough that either tie-off would work for most people. I think I'll stick with lanyarding the handle--with my clumsy luck I'd find a way to accidentally yank the scissors out of the scabbard and overboard. You can tie them together with a second shorter lanyard, as well, if you like everything tied off. I haven't had them long enough to really put them through the ringer. But they cut and provide options for keeping up with them. I will update if I uncover any other relevant insight.

I bought these to keep on the boat, and so far they are working out great. I really like that both the scissors and the cap have lanyard attachment points. This lets you choose how you want the scissors to hang (point up or point down). You could also attach both the cap and the scissors to the included lanyard so that the cap does not get lost while you are are using the scissors. This is how I have mine setup in the photos and it works well if you want to wear them around your neck for quick access. This would be more useful in a fly fishing scenario compared to the saltwater fishing I typically do. As far as cutting performance, I've cut 6lb all the way up to 80lb braid with these, and it resulted in a clean cut on the first try, every time. The blades have micro-serrations so that they grab onto the braid and cut it cleanly. My cheaper pair from another company had smooth blades and it was much more difficult to cut the line. My only two concerns are that the metal does not extend all the way back in the rubber handle, and the pivot pin feels a little flimsy. We'll see how they hold up over the next few months, but for $8 they are cheap enough to replace if they fail or get lost.

Good quality and has proper holes for float attachment using your key chain/cork or bobber.
