Metamorphosis (Edition Pocket Classics)

A classic book that should be on every literature-lovers shelf! Tho is the story of a salesman who turned into a cockroach who is eventually accepted by his family, but becomes isolated nonetheless. It’s a great story to explore the themes of alienation in our society.

had to pick a book to read for my AP class, and chose the shortest one on the list cause i hate reading. turns out this book is actually amazing. i have never really gotten into a book and enjoyed it before, but i couldn’t put this one down. i def recommend.

My daughter loves it

Very affecting.

The book itself was in good shape. Quality printing, good binding nice type. The story is terrible. I tried to convince my daughter that it was crap, but she just wouldn’t believe me. What do I know? I’m only an English teacher.

I constantly think about this book at night.

Hadn't re-read The Metamorphosis since I was a teen (Reasd it on my own, by sheer happenstance, not as a school assignment). Didn't know that Kafka had illustrated the original, but decided to buy this copy to see those and re-read the classic. Happy on both counts. Consider this as a complement to surrealistic art works, even though the illustrations are quite naturalistic.

A must-read book for anyone who is into interpretation and out-of-the-box thinking. Kafka masterfully explores different themes and invites the reader to dive into the world of Gregor’s life before - and after the ‘transformation’. Highly recommend to all potential readers and Kafka’s fans.
