Works perfectly. If you're reading this, I assume you know what it is. It's a digital storage locker for the keys which allow you to use advanced software, such as Avid's Pro Tools, and Source Connect. You store your key data on this, plug it in to your PC, and you can launch the software. I give it 5 stars because it just works. When it's plugged in to your PC, the software just starts. No issues. No hiccups. Without it, iLOK secured software won't even start. Now - one thing you must know: don't lose it. If you do, you're in a world of hurt. Because your keys - on this drive - are like cash. If you lose it, you'll have to go through heaven and h--- to get those keys enabled on another iLOK. You might even have to buy the software again - at $1800 a shot. The software companies are concerned that pirates will use keys illegally. So, this is one tight security system. Do - not - lose - it. That may be a hassle waiting to happen, but if you're careful, you're OK. And as I said, the iLOK works perfectly.

When I first bought this, I started having some regret--thinking I should've bought the 3rd generation, and I was tempted to cancel my order! Moreover, even though it's prime it took 4 days to get out the door and a whole week from the purchase date to get to my house.. But, when I got it today, to my surprise, I received the iLok 3! I'm happy to say I'm glad I waited this order out. As for an actual product review, what's to say? If you need this, you need it. It functions, and you might be surprised with what you get. ;)

It saved my life! Replaced the one I had for over 10 years

This works exactly as expected and seems fairly well constructed. The port seems to be pretty close to specifications size-wise and fits snugly (but not overly tight) into the all three of the ports I have used it with so far. I have thus far used it to hold licenses for several pieces of software and have had no hassles with either drivers or software. PACE's license manager (I am on Windows...) works fine and is reasonably intuitive allowing simple drag and drop of licenses between the cloud and/or specific ILOKs. If it fails, I will update this review, but so far so good.

5 Stars because it does the only thing it can do. I just wish that it didn't have to do what it does. its annoying to have to have it plugged in everytime I want to record, especially if I'm out on location. none the less I understand the need for this because of piracy reasons. On behalf of those of us who actually buy things that cost a lot of money, I.e. protools, I would like to say Poo on you to those of you who made this device necessary. bad form you dirty pirates...bad form.

I use this for Music Software licenses. After dumping Cubase and their "Dongle" I swore I would not ever have another one of these or similar. In my little "Home Project Studio" I needed something like this for ease of use. This ILOK is now allowing that. I don't get why some software companies demand ILOKs and others don't. Now that I have Antares Harmony 4 Evo, the price I paid is NOT worth it in my opinion however, it will come in useful / handy for people that want that kind of product or need it for their music. I can use it also to explore different harmony's very quickly. The set-up for the ILOK and registration process was not to difficult.

This was a great item and after many years it's still running strong.

Eigentlich gibt es zu diesem Produkt nicht viel zu sagen. Wer einen iLok braucht, der muss sich einen besorgen. Der hier bestellte funktioniert einwandfrei. Der iLok dient dem Speichern der Lizenzen und ist ein notwenidiges Übel, wenn man mit gewissen Programmen arbeitet.
