Nice bass for the money.
I bought this as a cheap bass to play Rocksmith with my 11yr old son, and it has done just that. The bass is comfortable, light, stays in tune, and looks really nice. The amp, is a good/solid "cheap" amp, the tuner is nice, and the gig bag is junk.Noteworthy,- No fret markers/inlays on fret board. It does have them on the top of neck. A preference thing, not really a negative or positive.-The cord jack broke after roughly 70-80 hours(Rocksmith time) . Warranty service and work was outstanding, I think they said life time on electronics.

Not very loud - inital review
Update: There was no resolving this. I don't know what was wrong but it was the bass that wasn't putting out a loud enough sound. I have returned this and am awaiting my refund. I was pretty sad about this because this bass looks great and felt good. I think I just got a bad version of the product and feel if I had gotten an exchange it might have been fine, however I opted for a refund and purchased another bass.Just got this today and it looks and feels good. Sadly it's not very loud through the amp or through the game Rocksmith where it tells me it's not loud enough. Manual doesn't show where the battery is but I'm hoping that's all I need to do.If I get it to be louder I will edit this review.

Four Stars
Pretty solid for the money. Good buy for a starter pack. Issues here and there but look at the cost and what you get... not bad.

Wonderfull Buy
Wonderful product. Great sound and very flexible. The passive bass boost works phenominally. Strings are rough, first thing I did was replace them with some Ernie Ball Slinky 105 strings. Machines feel a bit loose when you pull the strings out, but not like it works itself out of tune a lot. Overall a great product. The amp that comes with this kit is wicked awesome for a kit. Very loud.

Fantastic!
Strings are nice and low to fretboard, good action, slaps well. Amp is pretty goodBase did not need new strings immediately, nor has it needed to have neck tightened, was ready to play out of box... suprising.I got this for $299, would pay half again as much and it would still be great valuePictured next to my dean

All pros on this end
For being my first musical instrument, it's been excellent. Sure, I probably wouldn't know a crappy bass guitar from a good one, but it's yet to come untuned or damaged from the two times I hit the ceiling with it. It's sturdy. It's sexy. The amp is boomingly good. I haven't got a single con, so 5 stars it is.
