Great company!!
Pretty cool globe!! Moves very smoothly. Love that it 'talks' to you so that little kids can use independently. Only suggestion is that the sound comes from the pen so 1) it is a little quite, I wish it went louder and 2) if you loose the pen you don't have the talking feature anymore. But the company has excellent customer service!! We did loose ours and they sent us one which was really awesome!

Highly educational & engaging
My grandchildren were delighted with the GeoSafari globe! I liked the various information they could receive. The globe asks them to find a place, ocean, mountain range, etc. It also gives information about specific countries, states, & cities. As they use the globe, they will discover many more ways to explore the world.

This talking globe was a perfect way for me to get a globe
If you are looking for a way for your kids to learn more about the world, then this is the toy to get. My kids have been asking for a globe since we have been talking about where all of our family lives. We have a USA map from Learning Resources, but they wanted to see the whole world. This talking globe was a perfect way for me to get a globe, but also have something informative for them to learn. I ordered this toy from Amazon and the box was huge! I was expecting a problem in the packaging, but the globe was intact and it actually took me some time to get it out of the box. So, I am glad that for the price, the globe came safely in the package. There was nothing to assemble except to add the batteries. That’s my kind of toy! I couldn’t get the batteries in fast enough. The kids wanted to play with it right away. I let them explore while I read the instruction manual to see what we could do with this globe. Our favorite feature is all of the animals you can learn from each country. The kids figured that out on their own while I was reading the manual. All I hear now is “Mom.. did you know “this animal” lives in “this country”? And then they share the fact that they learned. I learned that reindeers are real and live in Russia!! That’s my daughter’s favorite fact. Every day, I am learning about more and more animals. Another really cool fun fact that the kids can do is to measure the distance between cities. The pen tells you how many miles or kilometers it is from city to city. It refers to different objects, like how many Eiffel Towers you lay between the two cities. The kids love that more than the mileage. They just keep pressing two different cities and wait to hear the objects and how many it takes to fill that distance in. The one feature we probably will need to explore more is the USA option. You can learn about cities and capitals just in the United States. The kids are more excited about learning about the different countries and continents, that the

Volume on Pen stopped working
At first we loved this globe, and it kept our daughter entertained for a long time while learning facts about the world. However, the talking pen is now extremely quiet. It’s very difficult to hear anything it’s saying, and the volume button doesn’t work. We tried replacing the batteries and that didn’t help. I reached out to the manufacturer about getting a replacement pen, but I never heard back from them. I wish there was a way to buy a replacement pen. Update: I’m changing my review to four stars because the manufacturer eventually got back to me. They did replace the pen, and we are very grateful! I’m just hoping this new pen continues to work for a long time.

Unique and fun way for kids to learn geography!
This is such a cool and educational product to teach kids about geography! I love how this can be used for many, many years to come with our kids! My 4 year old loves using the talking pen to find and learn about the USA states/cities and different countries especially the states/cities and countries where different family members live. She was happy doing this for a while on her own! I also love how there are different modes like continents & oceans, nature, countries, cities & capitals and USA cities & states. Also another neat feature is the measure it mode where it tells you the distance between two different cities! So cool! The actual globe is very durable and high quality. The instruction guide provides different ways to play so my kids will continue to use this for a long time. I think this is a must have product for every classroom and every home. This is such an unique and fun way for kids to learn geography!

Didn't work, disappointed daughter on Christmas morning
My daughter requested this gift from Santa, it was the one item she really wanted. When we received the box, it appeared perfect and undamaged, so we were not worried about opening it before Christmas Eve which ended up being a mistake. Christmas Eve, we opened the box and placed in new batteries. The pen didn't work and wouldn't turn on, so we tried two new sets of batteries with no luck. We made up an elaborate story, and left a note from "santa" saying the item had "fallen off the sleigh but Santa would send another one that worked". We still haven't received a reply from customer service to simply replace the pen, so here we are on January 2nd while my daughter hopes for santa to send a new globe. We're going to be forced to return this; I'm leaning toward ordering a new globe from another business as I'm pretty disappointed to not have received any replacement or acknowledgement. It's a bummer because it appears to be a nice globe. If I get a reply in the next day or so before returning I will update this review as I'm still hoping the delay is because of the holidays. Update: Still zero response from this company (as others have said). I was able to score a black friday deal on this and now there is no replacement option, you have to return and buy a new one. We will be going to another company because there is zero customer service. Extremely disappointed.

Could be better
First of all, let me say that if this globe was $30-$40 it would get 5 stars, but for over $100 it just doesn't do enough. I have a very smart homeschooled 4.5 year old and a 2 year old who I have been trying to teach geography to. We have several world maps and the Timeline geography game and we regularly send/receive things from penpals around the world. We also eat unique foods from various countries each week and talk about the country that each food comes from. I needed a way to show the 3 dimensional nature of the world to my kids, so I ordered this globe. For the price, it is a bit dissapointing. The quality of the globe itself is good. It is sturdy plastic, with vibrant glossy colors. It is lightweight enough for my 4.5 year old to move it by herself, and the globe spins freely on both axis, which is nice. The pen stores nicely in the base and using everything was straight forward and intuitive. My daughter has no problems using it by herself. The pen (where the speaker is) has several volume levels, which is also nice, although a headphone option is not present and would have been nice. The variety of information types and quizzes is ok, but the information given for certain areas is odd. Sometimes it makes sense, and sometimes it doesn't. If you click on the picture of the puffin, you get information on the Loch Ness monster. (You can find out about the puffins in Wales if you click on London... which doesn't make much sense). If you click on the hedgehog like creature (or any country near the hedgehog) you will not get information on hedgehogs. This frustrated my children. The information on some animals is more thorough than on others. For instance it tells you how big the Pacific giant octopus is, and how it can change colors, but for puffins it just says that they have a triangular colorful beak. The country information is slightly better. The distances between cities are interesting, but they are not particularly relatable. (For instance, according to the globe, it takes 2 hours to fly from Portland OR to San Francisco CA, which is fine but not particularly interesting or relatable to children who have never flown). The narration is done by Bindi Irwin (Steve Irwin's daughter) and some unknown male narator. It is clear and easy to understand, although my daughter did wonder why it switched between voices seemingly at random, and my husband did have a little trouble understanding Bindi's Australian pronunciations at times. Over all, it is a neat toy that is educational, but for the price of a tablet I was expecting more. More information, more variety, and more accuracy. (It also would have been nice if they included batteries for the pen). Maybe future versions or a pen update could solve this? I dunno. Overall I wanted to like it more than I do. That being said, it's certainly a pretty globe, and the kids do love it, so points for that!
