Gravity Falls: Lost Legends: 4 All-New Adventures! Review: Nicely made, entertaining book for Gravity Falls fans young and old - 4 new stories about Gravity Falls in a well bound hard cover book with colorful, attractive graphics and quality construction. My daughters are big Gravity Falls fanatics and they loved it and report the stories are classics and very entertaining. However, like all branded merch it was a bit pricey for a hard cover book. Written for adults or children, not a baby book or anything Review: Just as good as the show! And a must read! - Lost legends is an amazing “continuation” of Gravity Falls! The art is great, the cover and page quality is amazing, the humor is good and the stories themselves are fantastic! These stories aren’t just four random adventures that would be considered filler if they were actual episodes; these stories have meaning, extra lore, character development, heartwarming feels, and even tie up some loose ends that the tv series and journal 3 left open! The stories take place before Dipper and Mabel went home at the end of the summer so I guess it’s not really a continuation, but instead just a bunch of interesting adventures that the tv series and journal 3 never touched upon. Story #1 is a Dipper and Pacifica adventure, but don’t worry, there’s no more dipcifica than there is in the episode “Northwest Mansion Mystery.” This adventure has some good character development for Pacifica! Story #2 is just hilarious and fun, not really serious but still worth reading and impossible not to love, especially if you’re a fan of comic books, graphic novels or manga! Story #3 has the most feels of all four stories and provides some great character development for Mabel! I won’t say too much of what I’m talking about to avoid spoilers, but let’s just say it addresses the whole “Mabel is so selfish” criticism that some people have with Mabel’s character. If you’re one of those people, this story just might redeem Mabel for you! And lastly, Story #4 is an adventure about the Stan twins when they were kids and has some good feels and character development for Stan and Ford! And of course, there’s tons of codes sprinkled throughout the book! All of these stories feel like real episodes, not some haphazardly thrown together cash grab! Overall, just like journal 3, this book is a must read for all Gravity Falls fans! I implore you not to pass this over by thinking it’s a cash grab or won’t be as good as the show! Lost legends is very much worth your time and money!

Whetting the Appetite
I was a late comer to the animated show GRAVITY FALLS. I was introduced to it by my brother. The show was one of the best written television shows I have ever watched. There were so many layers and everything fit together so well. Like so many others, I came to love the show and the characters that were on it. Unlike many series, GRAVITY FALLS ended after it had told the story it came to tell (after only two seasons). It is possible that the show might be revisited at some point (Dipper’s letter does say see you next summer), there are no new episodes of the series right now or any time on the near horizon. However, fans of the show do have a few more stories with the release of GRAVITY FALLS: LOST LEGENDS. GRAVITY FALLS: LOST LEGENDS contains four new Gravity Falls adventures told by Shmebulock. It turns out that Shmebulock isn’t the “slow” gnome everyone thinks. He’s actually very intelligent but was cursed by an evil wizard a long time ago to only speak his name, but every 1,000 years he gets a chance to speak normally again for one night. This is the night and Shmebulock shares it with the reader. The four stories are: “Face It” – Dipper and Pacifica Northwest team up together after Pacifica unleashes a creature called Mr. What’s-His-Face steals Mabel’s face. “Comix Up” – The Pines family and friends literally jump into the pages of a comic book to save Grunkle Stan. “Don’t Dimension It” – Set after Weirdmageddon, but before Dipper and Mabel return home, this story finds Mabel sucked into the multiverse where she learns an important lesson about herself. “Pines Bros. Mystery” – This story is about Stan and Ford’s first adventure as kids when they first met a mythological/supernatural creature. There are another set of twins in the story who are the Pine’s rivals who are parodies of the Hardy Boys. Of the four stories, I really don’t have a favorite because they are all good in their own right. “Face It” is another classic Gravity Falls adventure and is the story most like an episode (watching the special DVD that comes with the Gravity Falls DVD boxset, I believe this story was an episode that was planned, but just never made it to the show). The story also hints at a possible romance between Pacifica and Dipper. “Comix Up” is a great story that features over half-a-dozen animation styles. “Don’t Dimension It” is really neat because it’s a story set right before Dipper and Mabel return home and could be foreshadowing of adventures to come. Lastly, I love the “Pines Bros. Mystery” because it’s a story that shows how much Stan and Ford really did care for each other growing up and why Stan risked so much to save his brother. GRAVITY FALLS: LOST LEGENDS is a must have for any fan of Gravity Falls, but as a graphic novel, it’s not too bad as a stand alone piece.

great to read for gf fans!
My mom won’t let me read the book of bill, so I’ve just got to find every scrap of lore and clues within journal 3 and now lost legends! (Oh, the woes of a gravity falls fan) I read this on kindle because it is kindle unlimited! This is completely kid-appropriate, and it’s a comic, instead of all the words in journal 3. Overall, great for fans that have watched the entire series! Don’t read if you have not watched season 1 and 2 of gravity falls. And to quote shmebulock twice: Give us more Gravity Falls! And: SHMEBULOCK
