SofaBaton U2 Universal Remote, New Upgrade Backlit Button, improved scroll, Longer Infrared Signal & Raise to Wake, All-in-One Remote Control with APP & Customizable Macro Button

This programable universal remote control is a brilliant product. Easily configured and modified using the Sofabaton App with its extensive library of supported devices. I have successfully paired mine with a Sony TV, an Amazon Fire TV Stick, a Sonos soundbar and a Sky Stream puck. Further, using the learning feature, it can also be used with any IR controlled device and have paired mine with a Meaco desk fan.

Finally SofaBaton has fixed the product with this tweaked version. Still a few niggles that I hope can be fixed with a firmware update:— When it goes to sleep, the first keypress is ignored. What it should do is buffer the keypress and then send it!— Some keys can't be assigned to macros (e.g., E).— Device database is still hit-and-miss, requiring manual learning.Is it a "Harmony replacement"? Well kinda. You can fake the activities feature by assigning macros for each mode to the red power button. And a make a macro to turn everything off assigned to the "TV" power button.It's still one of the few remotes that can control an Amazon Fire stick, which is why I've persisted with the previous versions for so long. And the backlit keys are a nice touch.

A very simple and easy to set up universal remote control. Having used the Harmony remotes im previous years which are now discontinued a web search found the sofabaton which met my needs and very quick delivery from Amazon and up and running in no time, easy to switch between the virginmedia box and TV and soundbar and backlighting is must have feature. Very easy to tweek specific buttons to set it up how you want it to operate.

Easy to set up by selecting the remote you want to emulate through their vast database of remotes. Found a few anomalies with certain buttons not being compatible with my original remote control. However, I simply used the button cloning process which worked a treat. Have been using this for 2 weeks and it works a treat in comparison to the bag of remotes that cluttered the living room. At this stage I would definitely recommend.

The build quality of the remote is good, but the functionality is awful, I have used One for all remotes which learn the IR and work as good as the original remote. This thing works only when it feels like it.

I suppose as a standalone remote it might have been ok but if you’re coming from and need the functionality of a Harmony remote, decent macros etc this just doesn’t cut it. Had to return as not fit for purpose.

This has the makings of a very good product. Unfortunately in my view it is a work in progress.It is ergonomically excellent and easily slips into "finger memory".Its ability to mirror IR devices is very good and I had no problems there.The problem lies with the Bluetooth function.You are presented with a list of options one of which is supposed to correspond with your device.In my case (a Panasonic Fire TV) the best option was "Fire". But not all commands appeared. In particular the channel up and down commands and the Inputs command don't work. Also the Power button does not switch the TV on after the Bluetooth connection has stopped.Technical support suggested I try various options but why should the customer have to do research on a "trial and error" basis? I just want something that works.

I used a previous version of the Sofabaton U2 for a few years until a firmware update broke it. To Sofabaton's credit they refunded me for the purchase of this new one. It has always worked well for me and I've found the setup app works well.
