I finally pulled the trigger on purchasing this Grampa’s weed puller tool, and I am glad I did. It is a really handy tool to have, especially when dealing with weeds that are prickly or uncomfortable to pull by hand. It took me a few tries to figure out the right angle and positioning to get the entire weed out, but once I got the hang of it, it worked well. It is actually fun to use, and it came fully assembled, which was a nice bonus. The only downside I noticed is that if you have a large area with a lot of weeds, using this tool can actually take more time than pulling them by hand. For small patches or for specific weeds you do not want to touch, it is excellent. For large weed-infested areas, it may slow you down a bit. Other than that, I think this tool is brilliant. It is effective, easy to use once you get the technique down, and a great addition for anyone who has a yard full of weeds or just wants a cleaner, less painful way to pull them.

Yep, it works, and works well. I had this in my “catch all” wishlist for months, maybe years after seeing it on wirecutter. I really liked the concept, but couldn’t justify the cost. One day I went outside, and crab grass and whatever weeds took over my front yard. It was making me crazy, and I remembered this tool. At that point the $40 seemed worth it! This worked so well, and was so easy. I actually had a fun time using it. I’m glad I bit the bullet. The make is pure quality, from the wood to the metal to the hinge mechanism. It is sturdy, and I’m confident it will last for years. If you’re on the fence, don’t be. This is one of the wirecutter wins.

Ok, I have so much good to say about this thing, it's a bit ridiculous! I received my Grandpa's Weeder yesterday (one day earlier than expected😍, yet another reason for my 5 star review). I was so excited to use it, that I busted it out today and went to town. I "worked" in my yard for over 2.5 hours. I said "worked" because it hardly felt like the typical weeding work that I'm accustomed to. It was awesome to say the least. I'm sure the novelty will wear off some day, but there were so many audible "wow!", "oh man!", "holy cow!" etc.!! I just kept being amazed at the ease of which this tool makes removing weeds! Here's a little more detail: I primarily used the tool in my lawn areas--where I had hundreds (literally--hundreds) of dandelions. However, there were at least 20 or so weeds I removed from garden areas. I will say that it has rained here (Northern Utah) on and off over the past 3 days. I'm sure that helped the success of the tool. Did it remove all of the root of every weed? No, but I was in awe at how many weeds it got with a 3-9 inch root system. And of those that it didn't remove a good sized root, it still got a decent size. Did it leave a hole after removing the weed (like I had read in a few reviews)? Yep, but I figure those holes are great for aerating my lawn! Was it easy to use? YES! SO EASY!! I'm a 50 year old woman in decent physical shape and I worked for 2.5 hours in my yard today, removing weeds with this incredible tool. This was AFTER I returned home from playing 2 hours of pickleball (intermediate level--making it in and of itself a pretty decent workout). It was actually fun to use....and so SATISFYING! While using the tool, I had two neighbors come over and see it in action. They too were amazed. To one neighbor I admitted that it didn't get EVERY weed root system completely. And then I went on to show her and it went 4 for 4 weeds perfectly! We were so impressed. Can't say enough good about this tool. Very efficient, sturdy, high quality, etc. And I love that I'm supporting a small family business. Way to go guys! I wish I had discovered this tool about 20 years ago! Maybe it hadn't been found and re-produced back then?

I have servere arthritis so my mobility is limited & I am unable to kneel down to weed so I thought I'd look for a weeder that would work upright & didn't require bending. I did some research & liked the simplicity of this weeder so I order one. I have been able to weed most of my backyard from crabgrass in just a matter of minutes. I don't like using chemicals as I have a dog & it's not good for the environment so this is the go to tool for removing those stubborn weeds from your lawn. I absolutely love it & even though I have arthritis it is still very easy to use & also helps keep me active in the garden. 5 stars for sure.

Was amazed at the price, very cheap for such a well made quality product. I've had it a few months now & it's like New. Even after rough treatment on stony ground. Once you get the hang of using it, it's a real back saving tool that I wouldn't be without. A simple design that really works. Some perennial weeds need 2 attempts but still quicker than weeding by hand.
