These have been around for a while. I bought a set of three at The Motor Show at Earls Court back in 1982 and I have an old 1956 Motor magazine containing an advert for them. So, they're no longer a niche product as, finally, someone has started manufacturing them in earnest and have greatly improved the design in the process.. They work a bit like a ratchet spanner but without the need to carry loads of spanners. Range is from 8mm to 24mm (5/16" to 15/16") at one end and 24mm to 45mm (15/16" to 1 3/4") at the other. That's more than enough for pretty much any job. They also work well with threaded rods. I especially like how, instead of being of solid construction, they are made with 7, 2mm thick, steel plates held together with solid pins which means the tensile strength must be gargantuan, (For reference to that last word, see 'Kill Bill Vol 2). Comes supplied with a neat, zip-up case and a user manual, presumably for novices. Honestly, I couldn't fault this if I tried.

This item really is a very usefull tool..It gets to grip with all nuts, bolts metal pipework and fittings etc. Even if the nuts/bolts are worn, siezed over time too, it still grips & moves the part. There is a risk of shearing to old fittings etc, but that shows the strength of the spanner.. Not a new design, but these tools have been tried & tested over the years & are a worthy piece of kit, in your tool box.

So yeah really like this and it feels bullet proof and not flimsy at all which I was sort of expecting given how these multi use tools kinda are usually. Comes in a handy little zip up clear pouch to keep it clean I guess, and it works great for starting to loosen and finish off tightening nuts and lock rings.. But then here's the only problem, the ratchet system while good actually makes it hard to take off and reposition on the nut when the nut it loose. While loose the ratchet will not work obviously as the nut just spins so you have to take the spanner off but because the ratchet also self clamps the tool you have to then use two hands to take it off and put it back on again wasting time. So consider this before purchasing, it's a good tool but you'll still need you're spanner and adjustable set as well.👍

This tool is great! Good value for money and can use for so many different things. Great tool to have in the house to fix all those little things around the house. For definitely recommend!!!

Even the smaller side doesnt fit most hex bolts youd find for things you have to install around the house e.g. bolts for desks, tv mounts etc. Its clearly more for craftsmen than it is for a DIYer so only get this if youre professionaly involved with larger bolts eg a plumber etc. Definitely a cool product and seems that it would be great for these purposes but not for home stuff. In fact the few hex bolts that this was big enough for would latch due to not enough depth on the bolt (to catch more of the wrench) so in the end wasnt for me

I don't do a lot of stuff that needs a wrench, but I've got a few of semi-antique ones in the toolbox that have got a bit too old and worn. This replaced all of them. I was skeptical because my old monkey wrench has that lever in the handle that makes it tighten the grip further after you've adjusted it as much as you can, but this thing doesn't need it. It's even easier to use than I expected, doesn't need any pressure from the user to increase the grip, and works on everything I've tried it on. (I would not recommend it as a replacement for a proper socket and spanner set, or a specialist tool like a torque wrench, but it's a lot better than the pile of rusting pipe, monkey and other wrenches I used to have)

Couldn't grip anything. Too large to fit into confined spaces. Too heavy. Poor, shoddy workmanship. Cheap metal. Couldn't even grip and turn a lightly tightened 11mm bolt ! Uncomfortable to use. Can spin it like a proper spanner. I regret buying this. I am throwing this in the garbage. Will continue to use my old fashioned spanners.

I was a little sceptical this would work for what I wanted when all my other tools had failed. However it worked perfectly in removing a very corroded radiator valve. It’s a very solid build, easy to use and flexible enough adjustments for numerous uses. Very clever.

If there was a product on Amazon that deserves reworking the rating system, it would be this Kryptonian wrench. This is honestly some future spacema--spaceperson stuff right here. Was working in a mechanic shop. Mostly working on tires, front-end suspensions, and brakes. Let me tell you something. For a big guy with larger than average hands, it can be hard to get good leverage for some of those bolts and such. This tool...*wipes single tear from eye* this tool has saved me so much time and injury. Only way it could be better is if it had lips. --- Negatives: Haven't experienced one yet...outside of my coworkers wanting to use it all the time and/or fondling it when they think I'm not looking. --- Overall: Buy it! It's a unique tool that does more than one task and it's cheap enough to try.
