Effective for dry eye

Purchased these for a family member, for general application.....'post' cataract surgery (1 month later); normally the clinic gives your four weeks worth of prescription eye treatment to go home with after surgery - but when that ran out after four weeks this 'eye gel' was used to prevent dryness at night (during sleep).

Carbo-Fresh Carbomer 0.2% Lubricating Eye Gel 10 ml £7.99 Once in the eye the Carbo-Fresh does its job. Now firmly established in my 70s I suffer from dry eyes plus an allergy that conversely makes my eyes water. The viscosity of the gel is excellent (you don’t want eye drops running straight out and not doing a job). I have found that when seeking to put a drop of the gel on my lower eye lid as I squeeze the tube (and not wanting to evacuate the entire contents) one drop emerges but it is reluctant to break free (see photograph). In trying to get the gel to drop as I shake the tube I end up touching my eye or it drops half on and half off the eye lid. I dare say after a while I will master the operation. The excellent viscosity is responsible for the difficult release – so you can’t have it both ways! As to price point – it is average. Overall four stars.
