This book is roughly divided into 50% taking place in the mysterious tragic past, and the rest unfolding in the developing present. We get quite the sense of the fall from grace that Xie Lian suffered in his youth and bitter truths about himself and humanity he was forced to swallow. This author likes to story tell in this manner, with plots not often being linear. Of course, throughout the past, there is the throughline of the main relationship, even if Xie Lian cannot recognize or remember the boy San Lang CLEARLY had been. Aside: The scene where EVERYONE is forced to try Xie Lian's cooking. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. 😂😂😂😂

The book arrived fast (1 day earlier) and barring small scratches on the bottom that are rather unnoticeable, it’s in great condition.

It finally arrived and it’s so perfect. The illustrations are so pretty and the colors of the cover is so vibrant and nice. Can’t wait for next volume~

Volume 3 continues to build the emotional bond between the main characters while expanding the heavenly and ghostly world around them. Mo Xiang Tong Xiu’s writing remains rich and immersive. The story balances mystery, humor, and heartfelt moments perfectly. There are scenes that make you smile and others that leave you deeply emotional. The character development is slow but meaningful, which makes the romance feel authentic rather than rushed. The world-building grows stronger in this volume, giving more insight into past events and hidden truths. It’s beautifully written and emotionally powerful.

This is the most scrumptious, outstanding, astonishing, bewildering, stupendous, amazeballs, flabbergasting, extraordinary, phenomenal, stupefying, remarkable, CONFOUNDING series ever. I first read the manhua and felt bewildered by awesomeness. Then I watched the donghua and couldn’t stop rewatching it for months due to the complete work of art it is. Then I needed more. I purchased the first book, then the second, now the third. THE NOVEL IS MIRACULOUS. I FELT LIKE I ASCENDED TO HEAVEN MYSELF. IF YOU GIVE THIS BOOK ANYTHING BELOW 5 STARS YOU CLEARLY ARE ILL.
