Now I know why the British aren't known for their food. The taste is very bland with an odd texture, and they were way over priced. I found them at Trader Joe's for about a third of the price.

Very good , but not as good as you get it in the UK. Very glad I can get them here in Des Moines Iowa. Can’t find them in any grocery stores here. They work very well toasted with butter or clotted cream and jam.

I ordered them and received them within one day, which was wonderful. I was having a British withdrawal. Nothing like having a good crumpet with butter and jam. However, it wasn’t as fresh as I have had in the past. I was a little upset about that, but it was still the same. Excellent quality as pastry goes. Taste wonderful. I don’t know what the shelflife is, but I think it had been around maybe longer than it should have. My friends were happy with it. I thought it was a little dry. But the butter made up for it and that texture that is quintessentially the crumpet. It beats the pants off English muffins anytime. I just wish I had my own personal British chef or baker anyway
