Highly Recommended Watch! Great value for the price!
I ordered the Bertucci A1S because I was shopping around for a tough field watch with no date options. Unless it is a perpetual, I do not like the idea of wearing out the crown with date adjustments. My take on the watch is as follows; Pros - Good price for the quality of the watch. The watch looks better than in photos. The stainless steel is of good quality, with no blemishes/stains. - Nylon band is of much higher quality than a nato or zulu strap. - High contrast black dial with white hands makes it very easy to read in low light conditions. - Recessed watch glass is surrounded by the stainless case which protects the glass effectectively. - Screw down crown for a non-diving watch is a rare and welcome feature. - Very light weight, even for a stainless steel watch head. - Quartz so it very acurate. Cons - Only the hour/minute hands glow brightly, the dial however glows very dimly. - Case could be slightly larger, I think this is 37mm or so. Overall, I would recommend this watch for daily wear and recreation use. As I am allergic when not wearing stainless/titanium bracelets, hope this strap won't give me much problems with sweat and humidity..I highly recommend this watch for its price and quality! <<UPDATE>> The black paint on the buckle rubs off quite easily. It doesn't flake off but rubs off quite easily when wiping with cloth or tissue. I will consider replacing the strap with a PVD NATO strap. The watch is only 2 weeks old...

Nicer than expected
I wanted a watch with 24 hour markers for traveling. A lot of places in Europe use 24 hour formats and converting in my head while jetlagged was annoying. This watch has several small features that show a lot of thought in making it work well. I like the fact that this watch has a recessed crystal to protect from scratches. I also LOVE the fact that it does NOT use spring pins. Those are failure prone, and this has a one-piece casing that won't fail and make the watch fall off of your wrist. I also like the smaller size, which fits nicely under dress sleeve cuffs. The offset crown also makes it much more comfortable because the crown does not dig into your wrist. I did not like the band which goes underneath the back of the watch, spacing it up from your wrist. I made a more conventional leather band. It had to be riveted on, but it eliminates the fabric between me and the watch and makes it wear very slim. I used black leather, and it really looks good with the black watch face I chose. The lume on this watch is pretty impressive. it glows very brightly after exposure to daylight. I did not like the reflectiveness of the crystal. It has a lot of glare. I put on a 29mm anti-reflective glass screen protector which helped a lot. I recommend doing that. Overall I think this is a better than average watch for $100. The screw down crown, recessed crystal, and lack of spring pins are excellent durability features that set it apart.

Very nice watch in every way, top quality and cool-looking. 36mm dial.
NICE WATCH!!! I just received this the other day and have been wearing it night and day. I really need a watch that has good night visibility and this is it. Mine has the light khaki green band and it is super tough--as it everything on this watch. The watch size is perfect for those of us that do not have big, fat, thick wrists. So this is, at 36mm is the perfect size for me. It's extremely comfortable and the strap is never going to need replacing--it is very strong and tough. The dial cover is mineral glass (not sapphire but it is extremely hard). The bezel is titanium while the watch case itself is stainless steel. It is a very cool-looking watch and precisely accurate as well as comfortable.

Good Size
First off, at 6'1" tall and weighing 163lbs (and no, I'm not too skinny--my BMI is spot on), I'm a slim guy. I was searching online for a SIMPLE (i.e., shows the time only--no dates, no electronic compass, no calculator, no barometer, no two-way radio, no built-in tape measure, no nothing else!) wristwatch that wasn't the size of Big Ben, when I found the Bertucci A-1S. With so many gigantic men's watches being sold today (I can only imagine large watches are either for showing off or for people who are massively overweight, which seems to be most of America these last few years), I was worried even this watch might be too big, so I went to Bertucci's website to get its exact measurments, then copied the photo of it and photoshopped it until the image was life sized when printed. I then cut out the printed image, taped it to my wrist, and saw that the size was perfect for my wrist size, so I bought it. The watch arrived today, and it fits the same as the image of it that I printed. I'm very happy with the watch so far, although I wish the case weren't so thick and wish the watch didn't weigh so much! (but it's probably thinner and lighter than the majority of other watches sold today). Aside from its thickness and heavy weight, the one other drawback is that I have to buckle the strap on the very first hole, leaving a long tail of strap, which dangles because the band has only one keeper--and although the keeper is designed so that you can double the tail back on itself to tuck under the keeper, with so much extra strap, this was not a neat enough solution, so I cut off the excess with a scissor. The end is fraying, so I'll ether melt the end or dip it in glue--folded and tucked under the keeper, it won't be seen anyway. So that's it--as modern watches go, this promises to be a great watch. UPDATE: I've worn this watch about a dozen times, and unlike the experience of the other reviewer here, the black finish is NOT rubbing off the buckle on the watchband.

This is a great watch, tough (unbreakable strap bars), 100m water resistant, hard wearing strap, very legible, and accurate. In fact it is lucky it is tough, because the Amazon US packaging was terrible! No box, no instructions, just stuck in a plastic bag and put in a thin jiffy bag, I am amazed the watch crossed the Atlantic without any sign of damage, even the crown was unscrewed....to be honest, if it hadn't had the case back sticker on it, I would have wondered if it was new. Conclusion: Watch brilliant, Amazon packaging poor.
