Stopped working after less than 4 months

I was worried if the switch is going to be noisy but I haven’t had that issue so far. I checked the speed and get the full expected speed. It provides all the required management features for me: link aggregation, LACP, VLAN, port mirroring. I had some trouble getting to the management console and I almost gave up but was able to connect to it

Der Switch war einer der wenigen, die 8x 10Gb mit RJ45 bieten. Er ist teurer als die Version mit SFP Anschlüssen. Dafür spart man aber die SFP Module, die ich nicht brauche, weil bei mir schon ein Kabelgebundenes LAN (CAT 7 Kabel) liegt und ein Tausch auf Glasfaser zu aufwendig schien. Ich habe den Switch seit einem Jahr im Einsatz. Ich verbinde damit drei Rechner mit 10Gb LAN Karten mit einem NAS mit 2x 10Gb LAN Anschlüssen und NVMe festplatte. Darüber hinaus sind der Router (1Gb), der Drucker (100Mb) und einige WLAN Extender angeschlossen. Der Switch steht auf dem Dachboden neben dem NAS und dem Switch Panel. Er funktioniert einwandfrei. Die zwei 10Gb für das NAS System sind im Switch über Port Aggregation zusammengeschaltet, so dass selbst bei gleichzeitigem Zugriff von zwei Rechnern auf das NAS kein merklicher Flaschenhals entsteht. Die Geraüschentwicklung ist gering, spielt aber in meinem Fall eh keine Rolle. Auch die Wärmeentwicklung ist selbst im Hochsommer gering. Der Zugriff auf das NAS "fühlt" sich fast so an, als ob auf die PC interne Festplatte zugegriffen wird. Alles in Allem von mir eine klare Kaufempfehlung.

I own 6 sodola 2.5Gb managed switches and decided to get this one because it has 2 10G ports. I prefer built in because of thermal and compatibility issues with the SFP+ plug ins. This one has several issues: 1) there is a switch in the back that chooses between dumb and web managed. The problem is that the switch is misaligned with the opening and recessed, so web managed the switch is in the middle and dumb the switch is all the way to the left and you cannot move it back. I tried a paper clip (didnt work), tried a spudger (didnt work) and was about to open the case voiding the warranty until I tried the tip of an xacto knife, which worked. But if you are going to flip the switch more than once, you will need to open the case. BAD design. Second problem is that the auto speed negotiation doesnt work well. I had a 2.5Gb connection that went down to 1Gb when I replaced another Sodola with this one. It would not auto negotiate up. You have to go into port settings, and force the speed/duplex to 2.5Gb to get it to negotiate to the higher speed. Once there, it stays. Of course, none of this is in their instructions. Otherwise it works. So dinged 1 star for poor QC. edit: the unit failed, just the 10Gbe ports. On their web site, there is no email or functional way to contact them for a warranty return. However, inside their manual is a email contact address. I contacted them, provided their required information and they are sending out a replacement. Impressed that they stand by their warranty.

Exactly as advertised. Great price. REALLY performs at 2.5gig on Ethernet.

I have bought tons of tech items on Amazon, and more specifically I have bought many Sodola switches. Up until this specific switch I have been happy. Unfortunately, hospitalization for medical reasons precluded my performance verification of this switch until today. This switch has ports 3 through 8 completely dead. The first two ports function as expected. The ports are configurable in the firmware, but completely dead and nonresponsive.
