This is one of those tools that you just find stuff to use and wonder how you went so long without one. Thing does so much. It does touch-less continuity and beeps if there is power. Has backlight and light if you want it. If you’re a newbie, you must educate yourself, but this thing covers everything for car to home. It has already helped me a lot. I keep finding more stuff to probe and test. Also very durable, well made. No regrets

I've had this meter for a while now and I have to say between features and accuracy this thing is worth every penny. If you need one meter that can damn near do anything this one is it. I own a fluke 28ii that is significantly more than this one. The klein is faster and very close in accuracy but carrys way more features. Great meter! 4-11-21 UPDATE I want to change my review from 5 to 5.5 stars. This thing has impressed me everytime I use it with my flukes. I'm reading low current draw 10X's magnified and getting the same exact readings as my $500 fluke with a $140 clamp and it in the mA setting. I'm still convinced this is the best all purpose meter you can buy.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: This is a good meter with a large amp clamp, but I like the compactness of my 800 better.

Hardware store in my town only sells the CL800 and smaller clamp meters. I did not realize how large this clamp meter is compared to a Fluke 179. I took the clamp meter to work to compare its measurement abilities with other meters. The CL900 measured various 0603 resistors in the kiloohm range on par with all of the other meters. It was not as accurate when measuring 0603C1.5nF, 0603C4.7nF, and 1206C1.0nf capacitors compared to the five hundred dollar BK Precision 880 LCR and the slow autoranging Amprobe 37XR-A. It did perform better than the Fluke 179 at reading the nanofarad capacitors. CL900 had no problem measuring a 0805C47uF capacitor. It was on par with all of the other meters. Also, the clamp meter autoranged faster than the Amprobe 37XR-A. Used the clamp meter and a Klein Tools 10X Line Splitter to measure the AC current draw of a 8.3 amp heat gun. Measured AC current while a coil was getting energized with the CL900 and compared its reading to another clamp meter. Measured DC current of a stepper motor and compared the clamp meters reading to a Fluke 179. Measured the frequency of a 125kHz RFID circuit. I did not test the INRUSH feature. Overall, the CL900 is a good quality clamp meter. The Continuity tone beep is not as loud as the Fluke 179 and the Uni-T clamp meter. The NCV might be slightly more sensitive than it should be. The Continuity test on my CL900 was best with a good quality test lead set. The storage bag is okay but not great. The light accessory is a good feature. I will be purchasing the magnetic hanger and a better quality storage case for this meter.

I have had lots of tester over the years and this is as good or better than most of them. Its ability to check for current easily is the feature I really wanted since I have other testers that can check voltage and resistance. It is small enough to through in my electricians bag, but large enough to fit the hand well.

Inrush reading and durability are far superior to my Triplett or Amazon Commercial meters. Does everything I want for residential HVAC work as far as AC/DC. Has microfarads. Does not have temperature. I didn’t notice before I ordered. But that’s my oversight, and I honestly hold have ordered it anyway. It has a large clamp and is not a small meter. Heavy compared to a lot of clamp meters. Been great so far.
