I bought this to add to my aromatherapy collection. I love that I now do not have to purchase bug repellent products that cost a lot and contains who-knows-what. I'm all about all-natural remedies for health and beauty. This organic citronella essential oil is wonderful. It has a nice strong citronella scent. I live in Florida, and with the Zika Virus all over the news I want to make sure I have mosquito repellent on hand. You can use this essential oil in so many way! * Put in air diffuser to disperse citronella scent in the air (like a candle) * Combine with fractionated coconut oil to make a citronella scented body oil before going outdoors * Put in your lotion to add citronella scent to body lotion * Add drops to your aromatherapy necklace to keep the smell of citronella mobile with you * Use to make your own home candles Those are just some ideas, but I'm sure you could look on Pinterest to find more. I love that this product is organic. I also love the company that sells these essential oils. Great variety of organic oils. I bought citronella as part of my bug spray regime. Flying insects, especially at the parks, really don’t like the smell of citronella, and they do keep there distance. Will buy more from this company in the future.

Add a few drops to coconut oil and use all over skin, definitely helps to prevent mosquito bites, need to reapply every 4 hours but worth it, skin Is alot softer as well.

My wife bought this item last summer. She was looking for something natural to repulse Mosquitos while we go hiking. I have been using citronella candles since I am a child, but never citronella oil. My mother would light a candle on to repulse Mosquitos while having dinner outside or after a barbecue. This wouldn't prevent us to get a bite, though! (The amount of oil in those candles wold be too small to actually repel bugs...). Mosquitos and some other bugs are mostly attracted by the carbon dioxide released while we breathe. There is nothing magic behind the Citronella. It "repels" bugs by masking our scents. We could use something different from Citronella. Citronella is extracted from various species of lemongrass. We just like the smell of it. Obviously, it’s not easy to have a candle while hiking. We also need something resisting a minimum to the wind and water/sweat for optimal protection. Due to the high volatility of Citronella oil, it evaporates quickly off the skin; it has a short effect in time. It needs to be applied very often (we would apply it every 2 hours). If you sweat or if it rains, or if it's windy, it evaporates even quicker. I read the other comments that some people mix citronella oil with other substances to create a body oil to longer the effect (vanilla extracts, coconut oil, etc.). None of those worked for us. We will probably give a try at a higher concentration citronella product such as bands or others. I am opened to any tips if you have, I am a Citronella enthusiast because it's natural and reminds me of my childhood. This product is great for the price!

Works as always

I add a few drops to my oil diffuser in the backyard. It takes just about 30 minutes to clear an area of bugs. Our seating area is about 15x15 ft. We live in So Cal. Los Angeles county. We have regular mosquitoes but we also have these other really aggressive mosquito 🦟 that bite mostly at your ankles. This oil in the diffuser really helps to deter these kind too. The scent is strong, just like the oil burning tiki torches. But nobody wants to be seen buying those anymore so I LOVE that this oil is true to the description.

A pesty squirrel was using my porch as his personal playground walking along the porch railing from my house to the one next door. Decided to order this product to see if it would help get rid of the unwanted pest. I mixed 10 drops of the oil with some water in a spray bottle. And added a few drops of the oil in a bucket of water to also wipe down the porch. With a an emphasis on spraying the porch railing. Since doing this I have not had any visits from an unwelcomed pesty squirrel.

Really works mixed with water and a little lemongrass oil to deter unwanted bugs inside your home. I feel safe knowing I am not breathing in noxious harmful fumes inside my home when I use this. It has a very strong smell for a day or two but its not that bad. Better than breathing in Raid or Home defense sprays, so if you have kiddos and pets this is a great option to use inside.
