Best bang for the buck
Really happy with this knife for the price, it's a great size and weight and feels more expensive than it is. Blade is great and has only needed honed so far. Definitely think it's the best bang for the buck knife for the money, I'd have it above the victorinox fibrox which is usually the default answer for a cheap but quality chefs knife.

A great addition to the kitchen
Great knife so far, usually I worry about these things chipping or getting rust spots but all clear so far, hasn't even needed sharpening yet. A very well balanced knife, has some good weight to it as well. Clearly a well made knife

Excellent quality size and feel
I spent a week researching a knife to get. Mercer are a relatively new company to the chef knife market so the price tag is pleasantly lower than it's competition. Beautifully balanced full tang knife, sharpened great and a real pleasure to use... It even makes a swish noise when slicing thru my veg! Love it!

Super sharp, great weight, awesome quality.
This knife is superb for its price. Great for beginners. It’s has a superb balance and arrived extremely sharp. Like any knife the edge wears over time but after resharpening it every 6 months it’s as good as new. Great buy.

Great knife at a good price
Excellent knife with a great edge, holding its edge really well after a couple months of use. Fine edge too for meat slicing/charging. Really comfortable and nice to use as I rock cut. Recommended knife for anyone's collection

I ordered this to replace an old Mundial full bolster western-style chef's knife which served me well for 20 years. Back then I paid around $50. So to see another quality, fully forged, German stainless steel knife for under $100, about half of a Wusthof or Zwilling of similar quality and features. Its worth every cent, and a good alternative to the similar but high-priced German equivalents. The Delrin handle is comfortable, water and bacteria resistant, the knife is kitchen certified, and is used extensively in culinary arts programs. A US company, German steel, and made in Taiwan. An equation that in this case, works splendidly. This is a very good alternative to the pricier knives, while retaining the best features of a western-style chef knife. Sharp out of the box, a nicely polished spine, and the bolster is not a full one, offering better comfort and control. Even the choil is not overly sharp on the grip, and the rivets and full-tang complete the package. A nice knife to use, and easy on the eyes too in its simplicity and smart design. This is German fully forged steel, full tang, semi bolster and true western profile for everything from rock-chopping to slicking to crushing garlic. Its a workhorse, and at this price, a no-brainer if you want western style, German steel knives for much less than some other, more well-established brands. You wont see these in stores, as the company prioritizes supplying culinary schools and restaurants/food service industry. That alone speaks for the quality and confidence in this US brand. If you want to stock up on industry-approved knives, this is it. You can't go wrong. Now, you certainly can pay more, even hundreds more, for another brand from another country (they are great too - don't get me wrong), but why? You simply do not have to. Get this.

My second knife from Mercer. The first is a serrated bread knife from the Millenia series, which is praised by everyone who used it. This is my first chefs knife too. So I was careful to consider quality, maintenance, features and price points. I was surprised by how premium it feels, with a good weight and balance. Probably the best for home use imo. Went to get others from the same serie a s well. My mom was impressed by them, think will be getting for her as well.

Price is a bargain for a very comfortable chef knife. Also have a $200 knife and prefer this Mercer.
