In discussing Genesis, the book brings in understanding as a key to obedience. Absolute balony. This leaves God solely responsible for the fall. He didn't explain things well. This is a common enlightenment myth. I am 72 years old. When I was in high school, the educational establishment announced they were going to end smoking through education. Total failure. Drug education has been a total failure. Why? Any place with a significant drug problem everybody knows someone who has died from drugs. 50 years ago, I personally knew 2 people in my Montana High School with 720 total students who died from drugs. I knew several, one especially, who irreversibly damaged their brains. What saved me? I was afraid my dad would kill me. Fear is a much more effective motivator than information. We live in the stupidest culture ever (only 17% of Chicago students can read, depending on you area 40% of students have diagnosed mental conditions), and we have all, including me, have drunk deeply from the well of stupidity. I remember once my wife tossing her Bible while reading the gospels admitting she was angered by Christ's words. I truly believe, if you don't hit times when your natural response is that's stupid, You are not paying attention, and you will never become truly wise. Lots of people who have read the bible cover to cover and still think their professors are smarter than God. I have spent years learning how stupid I and my education were. I am slowly learning to be wise. You might think my rating should not be so high. But the book really is packed with information that really can help you understand the text. The problem I am referencing is a cultural problem that is almost impossible to escape in any modern book. We tend to ignore what is actually said and fit a tame God into our life. Really great for Bible study

126 pages! Easy to understand explanations of each chapter of the Bible and of significant people and events that occurred! I am very happy with this book!

I really like this book. Not only do I struggle reading I also struggle understanding the bible. This makes sense to me it’s easy to read and explains a lot.

It is great to connect with the Lord and understand his words easier. Recommended for new Christians and non-believers to believe he is real.

It looks as though it's going to be an enjoyable book, however, I am finding that with the exception of words written in bold, the ink in the regular print is light and hard on the eyes.
