It works! A great alternative to adcortyl in orabase
I have suffered with mouth ulcers for several years now and they are usually big and painful and last 2 weeks. I used to get adcortyl in orabase in a 5g tube from my doctor which always worked for me but it became discontinued. This seems to be the same stuff, it looks exactly the same anyway but in a much bigger tube. You need to apply it as soon as you get the ulcer as I find if the ulcer is already established then it takes longer to get rid of. Wipe the area dry with some kitchen roll or a cotton bud before you apply it and don't rub it in just sort of smear it on. The ulcer should be gone in just a couple of days.

Sorts out mouth ulcers fast.
This paste worked when nothing else did. I had an ulcer on the side of my tongue for 4 days before it started to heal with orabase. I applied it at night after cleaning my teeth, dried the area of my tongue with the ulcer, applied paste, and in the morning it was visibly starting to improve. It has no flavour, and is quite thick, but certainly works.

Relief At Last
I have often suffered with mouth ulcers and used to use an ointment called Adcortyl. For some unknown reason it was withdrawn some time ago which was unfuriating as I couldn't find anything like it. Gels like Anbesol are just mild pain relievers and do not solve the problem. This ointment seems to be Adcortyl's equivalent and after suffering for two weeks this provided immediate relief - hoorah! By the time I ordered this, my mouth was clearing so I can't give it 5 stars as, until the next time, i can't say how quickly it would have worked, but I'm glad it's available.

Good for ulcers
I used to use a product called adcortyl in orabase that was very good. Sadly it is no longer available but this product seems to work well in forming a protective seal over the mouth ulcer. Best used overnight. Pat the area dry first and smear over the ulcer. Works better than some more well known brands and is cheaper.

Great for ulcers! Highly recommended.
Can't believe this paste is so effective and speedy- twice in the past fortnight I've smeared a little on an ulcer to help heal it overnight and both times there has been no sign of said ulcer the following morning - usually it takes 5 days to a week for them to heal, so well done! Just make sure water's been drunk and teeth have been brushed before popping it on the sore bit - last thing before bed!

Offers relief if you can manage to get it to stick, very tricky to work with!
Bought this for my boyfriend as he suffers from mouth ulcers. It works if you can manage to get it to stick to your ulcer. The problem is that it's quite tricky to make it stick, it's difficult to work with in that it crumbles md doesn't adhere. A bit of it will adhere but not enough, and we can't figure out how to make it stick consistently. A pity, as the area it did cover felt relieved--but we literally can't work out what makes it sometimes stick and sometimes not stick! Perhaps it depends on the biochemistry of each person?

It works, but be careful how you apply it
The paste creates a thick paraffin-ish layer on top of a sore, so it does what one expects it to do. The ingredients are mentioned nowhere (neither on the box, nor on the tube, not sure how this is legal!), but from what I've found for this particular item, it should be: Gelatin 16.7%, Pectin 16.7%, Sodium carboxymethylcellulose 16.7% Polythene 2.5% and liquid paraffin 47.4% Also, be careful as to how much you apply. The applicator is not really helpful, so just manually apply a small pea-size directly on the area.
