I got this as a Christmas gift for my father this past year because he loves wind chimes and I felt like this was in a similar vein. But he actually just loves playing it. The sound is great despite its small size. It also is very sturdy feeling and seems to be made out of good material! The instruction book includes some songs to play that are pretty easy and just cute to use!

Solid, beautiful, beautiful-sounding, and absolutely addictive. Light-weight, durable, and easy to hold. Comes with a lovely protective case and stand for the sticks. Easier to play than a xylophone and deeper-toned than a steelpan! The resonance is amazing... like big wind chimes and temple bells. The numbers are stickered on cheaply, which is my only complaint about the quality (though, in fairness, the drum came with replacement stickers in case they fall off, and it wouldn't be that hard to figure out the notes for following the music sheets even if they all fell off).

For Christmas, I decided to get two of these mini 6 inch, steel-tongue drums in deep green; one for each for my grown daughters in their 20’s. Both are creatives, and just love making and listening to music! You can choose to play the drum with the two mallets included (along with their rest stand), or with your fingers. There are 8 notes which can be tuned by either slightly lifting or pressing down on each individual “tongue”. Even better, it comes with an excellent instruction guide/music book with songs to play. The final items which are thoughtfully included are a strip of stickers with duplicate numbers for each note, and a great durable black bag to store it all. The only “odd” thing I noticed was there is no number “8” note on the drum. Instead, there are two numeral “1’s” but one has a “•”dot above the number “1”. After pondering it, I realized one of those notes is probably just an octave higher than the regular “1” note. It’s really no problem once you figure that out.😊 This cute drum has three round rubber “legs” making it very stable. The drum is sturdy and well made with a good weight to it, but it’s hollow inside as it should be. It’s well powder coated with a waterproof and scratch resistant paint that protects it from heavy usage and rusting. In the long run, this will help keep the tones sounding beautiful for a long time. Therefore, you can generate your own music, or use it outdoors as a “rain drum” for nature to make her own song. Now how freaking cool is that! There have been various studies showing that vibrations of certain sounds can actually help heal our minds and bodies. In fact, using “sound baths” was a popular treatment in VA hospitals during the 1940’s. The ethereal tones which this drum emanates can easily be incorporated into a meditation session. Humming or chanting along with the notes can help you relax too. Overall, this little steel drum is an object which has the magical ability of holding your interest, reducing your stress, and sparking your creativity for hours! I would highly recommend it as an unusual and thoughtful gift for anyone, at an extremely affordable price! They are a big hit with my kids, and I’ll probably get one for myself as well.

This is my second one I have purchased. I wad surprised by this one. Because the other one i own. Is more of a metal type material . This on reminds me more of like ceramic . Definitely a different sound too. Cute small rain drum . Love the color is bright and pretty. Good quality, I definatly feel more afraid of dropping this one then I do my other one. Easy to use easy. Easy to make sounds and play music. Calming noise comes from each tiny hit. Portable with a cute bag for all items that come with it.

I got 2 of these for my 3 and 5 year old grandkids for Christmas and one for my 8 year old niece who lives in a different state. They all LOVED it and couldn't stop playing with it. My 8 year old niece mastered all the songs in the songbook within 2 days. The 8 inch size is perfect for them to easily handle, and the echoing sound these things make is so pretty. These came with a round case that has a zipper closure and all the pieces fit nicely inside it. I find it easiest to put the loose pieces in the bottom then place the drum on top. The case is a pliable nylon fabric with a carrying handle, and it makes a neat storage space for the drum and drumsticks. The drumsticks are better for my granddaughters versus the fingertips as their little fingers are too small for the fingertip drumsticks to stay on. I will say the rubber ends of the drumsticks may pop off easily if they are pulled on and we had to remind the littles to leave them alone to keep them from popping off.

Great item, easy to follow “musical” guide Peaceful and serene Great sound despite its smaller size

My 2 1/2 yr old granddaughter loves it! She likes carrying it around, as well as the sticks too, and enjoys playing it. I play piano and also like picking out songs on it by looking at the numbers on the tongues. It comes with a music book, but only has about 10 songs in it. The high note doesn’t sound right, but the other tones are very soothing.
