The bag is very thick like a pillow around your piece. There is a zipper that runs the length of the bag and also a drawstring at the top. There is a small pocket inside for the stem and bowl. Or just bowl. It does seem to stop any smell coming out as long as you empty the water out. It is a good product and good quality.
