Better than 4th Gen IMHO
I bought this because I put my other one through the wash. Oops! Didn't see it in the sheets... We used to have the newer model on both of our TVs (Apple TV Siri 4K 4th Gen) but, honestly, I do not like that one. A few years years ago my boss told me he wanted the new version and to please order them for him. He had the 3rd Gen on both of his TVs. I offered to trade his out for with mine because using them at his house (I was a Personal Assistant) I found I liked it more. Even though it was an older version. The 4th gen uses a track pad at the top of it and most of the controlling, bar the pause and play button and maybe a menu button (don't quote me on that) is done through that and was just annoying. So when I put one of them through the wash accidentally, I bought another one (I think it was $68 at the time - still less than the 4th gen). The 4th gen (again, I do not love it - I know I keep repeating this) is $108 (at time of typing and this is $58 (at time of typing). Worth it! The cost is less and it works better (IMHO). It has Siri voice - which I use for searching things on YouTube or for Movies, etc. which helps a lot so you do not have to type on the awkward virtual keyboards. Quality is great - it is solid and well-built. And you have the menu button, the little circle button to go back and forth and the middle you can use as a trackpad if you so desire. Volume works just fine - we have it paired with the sound bar. I am not sure why Apple decided to change it to just a track pad. Worth the $50+ savings!

Remote Control so good even Ken Ober would approve
Yeah, amazingly it worked great, and was easy to sync. I thought that I was getting the one with the lightning charging connection, but this was the USB-C version, which was fine.

Refined and Responsive Remote for Apple TV Users
The Apple TV Siri Remote (3rd Generation) is an updated and improved remote control designed for Apple TV 4K and Apple TV HD. It features a sleek aluminum body, an intuitive touch-enabled clickpad, and USB-C charging. I tested it for responsiveness, ease of use, and overall functionality in daily streaming and navigation. Pros: ✅ Smooth and precise touch-enabled clickpad for intuitive navigation ✅ USB-C charging replaces the previous Lightning port for added convenience ✅ Sleek, premium aluminum design feels durable and comfortable to hold ✅ Dedicated Siri button for easy voice control ✅ Improved button layout makes navigation easier compared to previous models Cons: ❌ No Find My support, making it easy to misplace ❌ Still lacks backlighting, which would improve usability in the dark ❌ No motion sensors for gaming, unlike the first-gen Siri Remote Performance and Usability: This third-generation Siri Remote is a significant improvement over older models, with a more intuitive touchpad that allows for precise scrolling and swiping. The button layout is straightforward, and the USB-C charging port makes it future-proof as Apple moves away from Lightning cables. While the lack of Find My integration is disappointing, the build quality and functionality make it a pleasure to use. Comparison: Compared to the previous (2nd-gen) Siri Remote, this model is nearly identical but switches from Lightning to USB-C charging. It remains a huge upgrade over the 1st-gen Siri Remote, which had a tricky glass touchpad and a less user-friendly design. Who Is This For?: Ideal for Apple TV users who want a refined, responsive remote with voice control and a premium design. A great replacement for those upgrading from older Apple TV remotes. Conclusion: The Apple TV Siri Remote (3rd Gen) is a well-designed, responsive, and premium-feeling remote that enhances the Apple TV experience. While Find My support and backlighting would make it even better, it’s still the best Apple TV remote yet.

Better than a Universal Remote IMHO
I had to but this to replace my original remote after I introduced liquid into the internals. It works with my Apple TV 4K exactly as I expected. It was a little more expensive than I would have liked, but so is almost everything Apple, right?! Anyway, I was using my Harmony remote to control my Apple TV, but though it is more simple than the Harmony, it controls the Apple TV much better IMHO. It is small and lightweight just like the one that came with the Apple TV and worked perfectly once I got it paired. I had to read the instructions twice to get it right.

Great Upgrade — Love the Added Buttons
We recently upgraded to the Apple TV Remote (3rd generation) after our older one started acting up, and I’m really impressed with the improvements. The added buttons make a big difference. Our previous remote didn’t have a dedicated power button, back button, or mute button, and the directional circle didn’t physically click. Having those features now just makes everything feel more intuitive and easier to control. I also like that this version is slightly longer. It feels better in your hand and is honestly harder to lose compared to the smaller older model. Pairing it was incredibly easy — much easier than I expected. It connected quickly without any frustration or complicated setup. We added a glow-in-the-dark silicone case to it, which helps keep it from sliding into couch cushions (a constant battle in our house), and that’s been a great combo. Overall, this feels like a solid upgrade and a much more user-friendly remote.

Bought as replacement for my failing siri (lighning port remote). Works perfectly, no issues. Went with the USB-C port as all my devices now use USB-C making it eaiser to quickly find a USB-C cable to charge it with.
