Can’t wait to see them grow up.
I got them in the mail on Valentine’s Day. I planted them in sphagnum immediately and kept them wet. They’re in the kitchen with about 3 hours of direct afternoon sunlight. I finger-check the medium moisture every day and add about a 1/4 cup of water until it drains out of the bottom. I don’t move them unless I absolutely have to and even then, very gingerly. I saw the first buds emerge on one of them on the 18th. It’s the 21st and all 3 show multiple growth points. I love that they sent me a branched/crooked one so that I can finally try a fukinagashi willow. Follow their instructions and you can’t go wrong. If you have trouble, they are very active and helpful on their product support chat through Amazon. I didn’t need it this time around, but on a previous purchase. Very happy with my purchase -and this company- so far.

I don’t think I’d purchase again
Unfortunately I ordered this along with 2 others. I ordered the weeping willow, wisteria, and green geisha. The only one that ever produced roots was the geisha , the others never sprouted any form of roots. The picture is also misleading, because it present the idea that their cuttings that already have leaves. Which isn’t the case. Overall I’m super disappointed. The ones I wanted to grow the most didn’t even root sadly. Not sure if they used hormone rooting gel even. I’ve grown 100’s of bonsai over the years, and I’ve only had issues like this a few times before. Just sucks because I really waited ever since I bought them thinking eventually they would show signs of roots.

So far so good!
Arrived exactly Described as bare roots. I received three of them and have them sitting in a glass of water as instructed and they are already getting roots after a week. So far so good.!

Growing just right.
I am going ahead and rate my tree even though it's early and just started. If it changes I will change this review. I got one big cutting and a small cutting. I placed in a glass jar of water. In two weeks I have huge roots on the big one. Small roots on the second one. Both have started sprouting green on top. I am super excited to place in a pot and hopefully get in the ground this spring. As long as you place in a full glass of water and keep full you should see it root just fine.

What happen
I placed the plant in a jar and the plant done fantastic. Took off sprouting line crazy. For two weeks I kept it in the house near the kitchen window. So, I thought it's time to take it and let it sprout in soil and begin life. Ive done everything I was told to do in the directions and watered it everyday now and it's been nearly a month. The sprouting has stopped and it's looking like it's about to dry up and turn into dirt. The soil I planted it in is a some what swampy area also so I figured that would be the great place. Whatever happened isn't good I didn't think, but I'll probably not be trying this again. Good luck to you all, but it just isn't happening for me..

Beautiful Bonsai!!!
I wanted to give it a couple weeks to see how it was working out before I left a review. I didn't have such great luck with my first cutting but that was my fault and my first lesson in NEVER USE MIRACLE GROW. This is going to be such a beautiful tree! The growth on it so far is just amazing! Just see for yourself in the photos I'm attaching. I started it in water just as they said two on the enclosed instructions. I may have cheated a little I used a rooting hormone after noticing just some bumps but no roots protruding yet. It definitely took off after that. I'm keeping it under a grow light on a seed heating mat. I ordered the Fox farm Ocean Forest soil and that's currently what it's in. The instructions say you cannot over water this and I have been taking advantage of that, lol. I probably just water it once a day, maybe twice if it's feeling on the dryer side because between the grow light and the heat mat it does go through moisture quicker. I also have it in a very small pot to prevent it from sitting in too much soggy soil until a good root system gets established. I also used Myco Supreme when I first planted it in the pot. The bonsai all-purpose soil that CZ Grain sells is also really good. With some of my other plans they seem very happy and it is a very well draining soil You don't have to worry about water logging or root rot. But to provide even better aeration I mix Bonsai Jack's Gritty Mix with the CZ Grain and that's what one of my other bonsai is in. Thanks CZ Grain!
