Great performance. Everything is expected and even more. Very easy install on the am5 platform, no need for trying to not damage the pins. Can play any game i have tried with very good performance, and it is efficient with the power consumption.

Really nice processor and easy to install. It does NOT come with a cooler, but the price reflects that. Great performance so far and will run all of your UE5 slop games with no CPU bottleneck.

Excellent CPU with lots of headroom for OC'ing. Temperatures are phenomenal & power consumption is excellent! X3D CPU's are great for 1080p/1440p gaming but I'm doing 4K which is more GPU bound and this CPU can keep up with the best of them at a price I couldn't refuse for prime day!

Wanted to buy a 9800X3D, but they went out of stock right as I went to buy, so I opted for the 9700X. Managed to pick this up for $285 via an Amazon deal, and it has more than paid itself off. It's not an X3D CPU, so its gaming performance isn't going to win any awards, but what is there is still fantastic. I have only managed to max out this CPU in Blender and synthetic tests, not games: sandbox games, open worlds (e.g. Abiotic Factor), and VR—including Into the Radius 2, which runs in UE5—just can't push this CPU to its limit. If your primary focus is gaming and cores/thread counts don't need to reach the stars, buy the Ryzen 5 9600X, the older 7600X3D, or even wait for the upcoming 9600X3D. The 9600X and 9700X are nearly identical in gaming. I bought the 9700X only because I need multithread performance and the 9800X3D was not available for two months. Perhaps the 9700X's one true advantage over the 9800X3D is its TDP; this is a 65W CPU, whereas the 9800X3D is 120W. Besides consuming less power, the thermal load is more easily managed. I had a weird issue for a while where this CPU would spike to its TJMax and throttle when I opened File Explorer, but that was caused by my motherboard having an outdated BIOS, and has since been fixed. This CPU does not include a stock cooler, but this is a plus in my book; I quite enjoyed the Wraith Prism, but other Wraith coolers leave a lot to be desired. I happen to have an AiO on my CPU (Cooler Master PL240 FLUX), but for those on a budget, the Thermalright Peerless Assassin is $30-$40 and will do just as good. This CPU does average high temps; normal idle temps can reach 50°C. This feels really weird, but after the BIOS update, high-load temps take a while to reach 80°. I cannot give overclocking feedback, but it can overclock. PBO can give a little extra performance if necessary, but I have not enabled it yet, and don't intend to for the foreseeable future.

I haven't built a decent desktop since 2008. I thought it was about time to build a new one. I went with a Gigabyte Aorus Pro, with this AMD Ryzen 7 9700X. Couldn't be happier! It over clocks great (5.38GHz on all cores), temps are really good, it's fast, and I think it is a great balance between price and performance. It has performed very well on all of the benchmarks I have tried. I don't game and my new graphics card just died, so I've been using the onboard graphics. It has been performing quite well for my needs.

Used this for my latest build. I was wary of stepping down from a 12-core, but the difference is negligible - unless you rely on the CPU graphics for high-intensity purposes. But with a good GPU, RAM, MB, no worries. It stands up to my 12-core with similar specs. In a build with 64GB RAM, RTX 3060 12GB GPU, ASUS PRIME MB, 1000W PSU Oh, and a lot lower power consumption than its cousin, on a nearly identical build (different ASUS MB and dual GPU), the 12-core Eyzen 7900X. (And cheaper than the 9900X.)

The Ryzen 7 9700X has been a good upgrade for my PC. This 8-core, 16-thread processor delivers a balance of gaming performance and productivity. I can run most games at a consistent 150 FPS. A get just 3-5 less then the 9800X3D in Pathtraced games and in Last of US 2 i got 18 fps more and 28fps more with PBO enabled. This CPU saved me 2300 SEK by switching from the X3D and still I have an RTX5080.

o assemblato un PC completamente nuovo da qualche settimana scegliendo l’AMD Ryzen 7 9700X, e posso dire che è stata una scelta eccellente. Il sistema risulta estremamente reattivo e stabile in ogni scenario d’uso. Gli 8 core e 16 thread offrono ottime prestazioni sia in gaming che in applicazioni produttive. Il boost di frequenza entra in modo rapido e costante, garantendo fluidità anche con carichi elevati e multitasking intenso. Nessun rallentamento, anche sotto stress prolungato. Il TDP da 65W è uno dei punti di forza: consumi contenuti e temperature sempre sotto controllo, ideali per un PC moderno silenzioso ed efficiente, anche con raffreddamento ad aria. Il socket AM5 assicura compatibilità con le tecnologie più recenti e una buona prospettiva di upgrade futuri. I 40MB di cache contribuiscono a migliorare le prestazioni complessive, soprattutto in gaming. Dopo alcune settimane di utilizzo quotidiano, il PC si è dimostrato affidabile, veloce e ben bilanciato. In gioco mantiene FPS stabili, mentre in ambito produttivo risponde sempre in modo pronto. Ottima CPU per chi sta assemblando un PC nuovo e vuole prestazioni elevate con consumi ridotti. Consigliata senza esitazioni per gaming e produttività.

UPDATE: I'm still very satisfied with the CPU. It works really well and holds its performance. However, this CPU is not recommended for Battlefield 6. I have a CPU bottleneck since release. That being said, many Ryzen CPUs have a CPU bottleneck in BF6 which is utterly disappointing. The RTX 5070 in 1440P uses 80% while the CPU uses 50% and when following the enhanced overlay metrics, the frames calculated by the CPU are consistently lower than by the GPU. Around 15%-20% lower. I don't think that's the fault of the CPU as even top tier like the 9800X3D experience issues, but rather the game itself. I still recommend the CPU but if you wanna play a lot of Battlefield 6 you might want to look for Intel CPUs. I built my new computer and went with the 9700x. While this CPU has received not the best reviews it's a great CPU. When it comes to gaming the 9700X3D is king followed by the 7800X3D. However, in Canada the prices are so inflated that it ain't worth the additional $150 for the 7800X3D unless you really have money to spend or play competitive. I paired this beauty with an 840P Mainboard that I got on sale for $177. It's a good combo. It has no issues supporting 48GB of 6000Mhz Ram running consistently at 6000 MHz. I'm using my computer for work and gaming. The 9700x is a fast CPU for all sorts of productivity like coding, processing, editing and office work. Gaming performance is great. Paired with RTX 5070 this makes it a great combo. A much faster GPU might lead to bottleneck, but if you pay $2000 for a GPU I'm sure you can afford a better CPU too. I usually prefer Intel and prices for a 14700KF or 265KF Ultra are somewhat similar to the AMD. AMD Mainboards are easily $50-100 cheaper. On top Intel's 14xxx series has up to this day issues with overheating. Compared to the Ryzen 9700X whose performance is slightly below the 14700k it runs very cool and is extremely power efficient. AMD also added two new modes 95W and 105W power mode can be selected in BIOS. AMD extended warranty for higher Watt modes which is very consumer friendly. I went with the 105W for now and paired with a Peerless Assassin 120 it runs at max 75 degrees while gaming. I'm very satisfied with the 9700X. I'm usually an Intel user but AMD delivered here. For someone who had a i5 10600k before it's a big upgrade. An upgrade from a Ryzen 7700x or Intel's 13th gen seems unnecessary as the performance gains are marginal. I understand the X3D hype but the X3D CPUs are consistently slower in productivity yet excel in gaming performance. With overclocking and fast RAM the 9700X gets pretty much the same performance as the 7800X3D for less money. I'm extremely satisfied with my purchase and the 9700X offers excellent value for money and strikes the perfect balance between gaming and productivity performance.

Cuando arme mi PC empecé por un R5 8500g, jugaba a 50fps en gráficos mínimos, después conseguí una gráfica dedicada RX7800xt pero me tuve el 8500g, y ya corría todo a 75-90 PFS en gráficos ultra dependiendo del juego, ahora que por fin me llegó el R7 9700x tuve una subida increíble dependiendo PFS, ahora todo va arriba de 120FPS y lo más importante es que ya no tengo caídas bruscas de rendimiento o de fotogramas, los 1%low están arriba de 100FPS incluso en el nuevo BTF6 que es muy exigente con CPU, esto hablando solo de juego, para todo lo demás también ha sido un cambio muy a favor, encendidos más rápidos, tiempos de carga mínimos En mi caso tuve que hacerle OC para sacarle todo el provecho, con una refrigeración líquida de 240mm si me ha llegado a 86C bajo carga máxima
