Women's 501 Mid Thigh Shorts

Great fit, very flattering. I am curvy with wide hips, large butt and thicker thighs and these shorts fit so well around all the bits. I appreciated that the shorts did not dig into my skin in the thighs while sitting and have a nice stretch to them when bending down or sitting. I ordered them on a prime day sale, but would absolutely order them full price because these are quality, comfortable Jean shorts. I found these exact shorts at Target, but they were sold out of my size. I hopped on Amazon and there they were! I feel like these run a little smaller than other brands. I usually can wear a size 30 in jeans, but I got the 34 in these shorts and they fit perfectly. I love the weight and the quality. I got the Fade Off and I love the light look. I am in my 50's so I didn't want them to be too short and these are perfect.

Fit perfect. I used the size guide, I’m a 6 normally so I got a 28. They have little to no stretch but I prefer that. They are flattering, not so short that my butt is showing but not too long to be frumpy.

I purchased these in two different sizes and colors. The darker pair is a SIZE 30 in the color (NEW) MULTIPLE CHOICE, while the lighter pair in a SIZE 29 in the color (NEW) TAKE OFF. For sizing reference, I'm 5'3", currently 145 lbs with measurements about 40"-30"-40" (bust-waist-hip), and I'm wearing size 4-6 in jeans or a medium in bottoms in most brands right now. Another random note but I have a shorter torso with longer legs (proportionally), aka I rarely wear short length in pants and even mid-rise bottoms hit pretty high waisted on me. For the sizing, I would say they’re about the same as their normal 501s, meaning they run a little small, especially if you have larger hips or butt. I comfortably fit into a size 6/28 in most brands of jeans, even in some Levi’s, but I went up 1 and 2 sizes in these. The denim is thicker and stiffer, and since they’re shorts, I’d just rather they be looser than tight. The 29 fit tighter but was still not too tight; I had room in the thighs and some in the waist, but I did find they were a little tighter in the waist than I wanted, especially when sitting. The size 30 was a tad looser than I prefer, but I would rather that than too tight, so I stuck with those; I have quite a bit of room in the waist, so they’re more comfortable to sit in. I have thick thighs from years of soccer and found both sizes pretty forgiving in that area, even with the solid hem on these two colors (I was worried it would be stiff). I can sit without looking like my legs are being cut in half, lol. As for the style, I love the length! They’re just long enough to hide the back of the thighs but not so long they look like men’s shorts or Bermuda style, and they protect the upper inner thigh where most of us tend to chafe. You can roll or cut them if you want them a bit shorter. I do think these make me look a bit like a mom (which I’m not), but that’s OK, haha. Another note is that they sit really high on my waist, but like I mentioned in the beginning, that’s a common problem for me as a torso-lacking girl. The description says it sits below the waist, so I guess they’re supposed to be mid-rise. Who knows? Not me. As for the material, like I mentioned, they are a thick, durable denim with a tiny bit of softness but not a lot of stretch. They’ll eventually loosen and soften after some wearing and washing, but they’ll be stiff for a while, and the button fly doesn’t help, so keep that in mind. I personally wouldn’t wear these out if I knew I would be doing a ton of sitting, but I’d have no problem otherwise. On the bright side, I’m sure these will last years and years of wear, only getting better with age. As far as the colors, they’re both great closet staples. Multiple Choice is a standard medium denim shade, while Take Off is a lighter wash that looks worn in and actually feels a hair softer. They’re both safe choices, depending on what you’re looking for. Overall, I definitely recommend these to anyone looking for a longer style of shorts. Just remember that you may want to consider sizing up.

Well...to start I ordered the one size larger..cuz it said runs small..my take is order your regular size!!!! So I got my 32's..and its PERFECT!!! Very well made and sturdy..will last a looonnng time..so worth the price..an investment piece..it gets softer as you wear..love the high waist..I'm a mature lady..but young at heart..good shape..so I don't want frumpy..these are a great length..classic..for reference I'm 5'4" 165 to 170..42 35 42 1/2...a size 32 in most Levi's and Wrangler. Size 12

wish i bought two sizes up like reviewers mentioned! the waist area fits well (even a bit loose) - BUT the thigh area is a bit too tight and creates these lines in the groin area. i’m 5’4” 157 pounds, my measurements: hip: 41 waist: 32.8. i went to levi’s recently and tried on a bunch of jeans, i was typically a size 31. per the size chart i would be a size 31, i bought a size 32 and it doesn’t fit right. my butt looks nice in it though. hopefully the next size up will be better.

These jean shorts are the perfect rise and length for me which makes me feel comfortable. My thighs are pretty big so I always feel weird about them just spilling out with shorter shorts but these cover them. Makes my thigh less sweaty too. The rise while high, doesn’t super exaggerate my lower belly area the way some high rises tend to do. I think the sturdiness of the denim plus being reinforced with a button fly closure instead of zipper really helps to hold everything in. Love the look and thickness of the fabric. It is 100% cotton so there’s no stretch. It fits quite snug when I put it on but it does loosen up a bit later on. The only minor issue is that the band starts to fold over when I don’t wear it with a belt and it leaves a little bit of a gap. Other than that, it’s one of my favorite pairs of Levi’s and the only shorts I’ll wear for the summer! If I can find this exact pair in black, i’d be pretty happy **SIZING: I went by the measurement of my hips to choose the size on the chart. In some of the other Levi's jeans that have elastane in them, i'm a 31 or 32 because they more stretch, and as I've mentioned before, these are 100% cotton so they do not have any stretch. I wouldn't recommend these for more curvier folks with a smaller waist or else you'll have that gapping around at the waist.

So I ordered these in a 29” waist first. They came as a short length light wash rolled hem. I ordered bleached wash mid length frayed hem. So needless to say I was annoyed and disappointed. I returned those for a full refund and reordered in a 30” waist. Although 29 would have fit better the 30 was fine, I tried this as some reviews said they fit snug and no stretch. These definitely have a little stretch but not as much as the first (wrong) pair. Overall I would buy again at the price I got.

I really like these and sized up as per the recommendations. This is size 27 and I am usually a 25-26. I could have gotten away with the 26 as these are big on my waist but then I think the thighs would be too tight. They are comfortable and the material is soft but holds its shape. They look flattering on but I do wish they were made for a smaller waist and bigger thighs…

These jeans are so cute and comfortable. True to size!. Lightweight. Can wear them all day long. They don’t roll down. Color is amazing. I can’t wait to order another pair. Don’t hesitate add them to your cart!

Great shorts: sturdy, practical, versatile, and cute! I love the medium wash (“multiple choice”); I know I’ll get a ton of use out of these. I wanted a somewhat more fitted short and size 26 fits me perfectly (my measurements are 26.75 inch waist and 37.75 inch hips), so these fit maybe half a size smaller compared to the size chart, at least at the waist. However they fit a bit bigger compared to Levi’s ribcage jeans, where I’m a 27.
