Potassium Alum Stick 60g

I recently started wet-shaving using a double-edge razor. As you may or may not know, new shavers may get nicks/cuts on your neck & even worse razor burn. This goes away with practice & finding the blades that work for you (I'm ordering some feather blades soon). With that said, I was getting a lot of nicks & some razor burns depending on the part of my neck I was overly eager on. I've used styptic pencils in the past like the Clubman Pinaud Styptic Pencil (great for cuts but very dry & chalky). I read the reviews on this & other alum blocks & thought this would work for me. PROS: - price - super cheap compared to other products. - durable. I've had this over a month now & the block looks completely new. As mentioned by others, this thing will last forever - I've used alum blocks before but found them inconvenient as you have to find something to store the block in when you're done. This has a built-in cover that screws right on top. Great if you have to travel. - super fast relief from razor burn & the nicks. Blood stops pretty fast. As will a gentle touch when you're shaving. - dries on fast but you can still put on aftershave. CONS: - no real cons, unless you talk about the slight sting of the alum but that's normal for this material. - product comes in really plain packaging but I didn't mind this. Not enough to remove any stars. Overall definitely recommend the product if you have a sensitive face or you get razor burns. If you're new to wet-shaving like I am, you MUST get one of these.

It's not easy to use. You have to wet it in order to put it on but it does not smell or leave stains. It also works to keep my under arms fresh and I also use it other places where I sweat a lot. My only complaint is that after using for about 3 weeks, the crystal started to break and have rough edges. I may have been doing something wrong but to keep it smooth I used a nail block to smooth it again. When it is time to purchase again I may buy the crystal without a container on it.

Most alum blocks are rectangles in plastic storage containers. I wanted something that was a stick in a hand-held container. This is so easy to use, and easy to store. My only gripe is that when you close it, it doesn't close tight, but perhaps that doesn't matter. It does the job of finishing a shave with some needed skin protection. As for cuts, I think a styptic pencil does a better job. Most serious wet shavers swear by alum, so it is a good thing to add to one's shaving products.

Works well. I just didn’t realize how small it was going to be. For the money you can buy a block which is much larger for just a few pennies more.

It looks rather nice on the pictures, but the items delivered to me had a milky/clear plastic color. Looks simpel, and nothing you want to have displayed in your bathroom. The Alum works as expected.

Super easy to use : Wet under the faucet for one second. Apply like deodorant. Dry it on a hand towel to keep it from getting yucky before replacing the cap. No scent. No residue. No irritation. One application lasts me 2-3 days.
