本書はコヒーレント光に関する事柄を広く浅く取り扱っており， 光を学ぼうとしている方が光学を概観するのに適しています． また，既に光について一通り学んでいる方でも広い光学の分野を 短い時間でざっと復習したい場合では使えると思います． ただし，あくまでも概観ですのでより深く知る必要がある場合は他書を 参考にする必要は必ず出てくると思います．
