Digital Clamp Meter 2000 Counts, Multimeter Amp Meter with Auto Ranging; Measures Voltage Tester, AC Current, Resistance, Continuity; Tests Diodes

My multimeter of 30 years (from Radio Shack) finally died and I have been in the market for a new meter. Spent a fair amount of time researching options and finally settled on this one (would love a Fluke, but cannot justify the price). I have been using the meter for several weeks on different projects and can now give a review with my initial impressions. Overall quality is reasonably decent. The kit came with the multimeter, testing leads, and a carrying case. The meter seems to be solidly built and the selector dial doesn't feel flimsy (that would be my first area of concern). Testing leads are sturdy (not thin and wimpy like some I have seen), are a decent length, and they fit snug into the jacks of the meter. Indicator is easy to read and the auto-ranging function works quickly. I have used the meter to check DC voltage, AC voltage, resistance and continuity, and AC current. In all cases, the readings were accurate.

Quick delivery. Product appears sturdy and well-made.Works fine so far on the few tests I've conducted. The DC battery testing is confusing as I'm getting fluctuating readings on the display while no batteries are being tested, but it does read correctly for the actual battery test. Those "off-test" readings could be due to my lack of experience or knowledge but I would have thought it should read "0.00" with no battery touching the probes? Still, I'm rating it 5 stars until I've gained more experience and more testing to decide if it's me or the unit. Otherwise, seems like a good product, especially for the price.

It came with one dead, corroding battery but that had not damaged the contacts. I replaced them with cells from the LED flashlight in my bag, which was not really all that bright anymore, and it would time out - go blankscreen after a few seconds. Found some better batteries and measured the ones I had tried, and they were at 0.87 volts. With decent batteries it seems to be reliable, giving the same voltage and current readings as my FLUKE 377 that cost almost 10X as much. The 20 amp current scale overloads on a 17.9 amp load, so you switch to the 200 amp scale and it reads correctly. I got it so my farmer friends can troubleshoot their electrical stuff - mostly fans and pumps and timers and circuit breakers and heating elements and thermostats - all stuff that was not designed to operate in an environment as damp as a greenhouse - and I have high hopes that it will turn out to be just what they needed. Basically test 1 is "is there voltage on both sides of the 240 line?" and test 2 is "if yes, is it drawing about the right current?" I am not a fan of the tiny screw that holds the battery door in place, but I like the wasy the battery tray snaps into place. I assume the screw will get replaced with some duct tape as part of the next battery change, after someone loses the screw. Arrived on time, no complaints from me on this purchase, at least so far. The farmers have it now :)

My old multimeter finally broke so I was looking for a new one. It took a while to understand how to use the auto ranging feature since my old one never had it. It does accurately tell me the voltage of electronics that I am repairing so I am happy with that.

Outstanding product for the price

The AstroAI Clamp Meter works great! Just used the meter again while working on a electrical circuit addition at home. The meter feels solid, including the selector dial, meter leads, and clamp mechanism. The LCD display is easy to read, although I need my reading glasses to read the small indicators on the display. All buttons function as described. I also like the 'Hold' feature, though I sometimes accidentally press it when using the clamp. The tote bag has nice features and storage sections. It is not a heavy-duty tote, but functions and does protect and store the meter, leads, and manual. I like the meter and glad I have it in my tool chest...ready for use!

A seguito della segnalazione dovuta alla gestione dei resi, sono stato contattato dalla ditta che con grande mia sorpresa (visto che i termini del reso erano stati abbondantemente superati), mi ha proposto la sostituzione del prodotto o, a mia scelta, il rimborso: ho scelto la sostituzione ed il prodotto (nuovo) in 4/5 giorni mi è stato recapitato. Devo fare un elogio alla ditta, per la cura che hanno dimostrato verso la soddisfazione del cliente e per la gestione professionale del "dopo vendita": VERAMENTE ECCELLENTE. Non posso che essere completamente soddisfatto di come è stato gestito l'ordine e del prodotto. Sicuramente 5 stelle e ancora grazie.

Por ahora en las pruebas que he hecho con unos leds que compré hace tiempo funciona bien, indica los valores correctamente. La botonera es estable y la rueda de cambio queda bien fija, se nota que es robusta. Hay una cosa que me desconcierta un poco y es que cuando no estoy midiendo nada no se queda en 0.0 sino que marca diferentes valores; sin embargo cuando tiro a medir indica perfectamente los valores, es probable que sea porque no le he pillado el tranquillo pero vamos, que como marca bien cuando le toca para mi perfecto. Además para guardarlo viene con una bolsa de tela así que genial. Buen precio, buen funcionamiento y comodidad.

La función de medición de Amperaje de corriente alterna con la pinza, funciona excelente. Tengo una bomba de agua de 1/2 HP y tenía dudas de un probable corto en el devanado, pero registró 6.0 a 6.2 amps. Así que mi bomba está bien. El medidor de voltaje en alterna y directa, también está bien y la continuidad también. Solo tuve que cambiar la pastilla del Breaker que se botaba.

When I received the product, I was happy to see how it was packaged in a box and inside a carrying case. As a consumer, the AstroAI Digital Clamp Meter is a great value for the price which includes a three year warranty. I especially like the compact size, the storage case and the lanyard that is included. The features that I liked the most is the large clamp-on jaws and the large digital LCD display. Another feature which was interesting is the hold button for keeping the results displayed for a longer period if required. I tested all of the features and settings which gave me all the results I was expecting. I recommend this AstroAI Digital Clamp Meter to anyone that is looking for a good quality meter, compact, with sturdy construction and a 3 year warranty.
