This neat Woodpecker Door Knocker has a vintage/handmade ‘Folk-Art’ appearance. It might be hand painted, I’m not sure. It has the traditional pull string that makes the birds head knock on the door. The back side has a brass nail/screw hanging hole to attach to the door. This item is made of solid wood. Dimensions: 8-1/4” High x 3” Wide x ¾” Deep Review: Color is misleading. - I was excited to see this little guy as I had purchased one about 30 years ago for my cabin. We added a bunkhouse this summer and wanted one for it. The only thing I don't like about it is the color of the woodpecker head...it's not bright red as is pictures...it's more of a dark maroon. I may dig out my paints and change it next summer. Other than that, it's very cute! Review: get a lot of fun - It's cute, more of a conversation piece. It has to be held at the bottom to move the bird. But still cute. It's still on the front porch, get a lot of fun compliments

Color is misleading.

It's cute, more of a conversation piece. It has to be held at the bottom to move the bird. But still cute. It's still on the front porch, get a lot of fun compliments

Door knocker
Had one years ago and it finally broke,now I put this one up and I like it a lot. I am a bird lover so it suits me. I am glad they still make them.

Very poor quality and defective.
The rope to pull on to make it knock was so poorly designed that no matter how hard or which way pulled, it never knocked. Very poor quality in design and wood. Not painted well and definitely flawed. Returned it for a refund which I never saw.

Don't waste your money...
Cheaply made. Did not meet my expectations so I returned it and was charged an 11% restocking fee. Buyer beware!!!
