Extremely sharp!!! 😱🥰 Be carefull when handle this knifes,do not let your kids to reach it ⚠️! You can lose your fingers with no effort. I got few cuts from the first days of useing it and I even didn’t realised how did it happened.😥 Great set of knifes😍❤️,beautiful, sharp, good quallity, but I just found few litlle staines of rust after washing and leave it to dry.🤔 Best thing to do after use and wash , clean it it with a towel and store it back. However, I am happy and in love with this purchase , worth the price and I can encourage you to buy it . 👏

I am impressed by these marvellous, Hoshanho knives. My chef friend was impressed. The blade thickness is reasonably good, in weight and the durability is promised by the design and execution of the metal and wooden handles. The sharpness is wonderful - easily slices through meat like butter. The varying sizes are fitted perfectly to each job needed, I’m especially pleased with the hybrid chef/chopping knife. Each blade was individually wrapped and protected by plastic cases to the sharp edges. They are slotted and held perfectly in the knife block provided. The balance is remarkable, fits perfectly in my hand and I prep my food with more ease.

I was on the fence due to the price but so happy I made the purchase. What a great set of knives. Perfectly balanced and lovely weight, super sharp blades. A joy to hold and use. The block is great too, for me a lot better than some of the reviews indicated.

Bought these in August. It's mid November now and they are still sharp as the day I bought them. Solid, weighty knife set, that looks beautiful and does the job. My main worry is them catching rust. I take the time to dry them after every use. I care for them in the simplest way I know, which is to apply a thin layer of olive oil on them, let it sit for a bit and wipe off. It's what I've read, that helps to try to protect them. I do that at least once a month. They would work as a great gift.

Very impressive set. Used a couple of the knives already and the edge of the blades are empressively sharp out the box. The holder is NOT a quality wood, and the shears seem to notch the front everytime you put them back in thier slot (see pic) but it isn't worth giving them 4 stars over 5 because of it.

Dreadful knife set. Purchased in May 2025 and the knives are all serrated and damaged. If I could give less than 1 star I would! I did contact Hoshanho when the small knife started to become serrated and they suggested Amazon would replace. No they didn’t and frankly it is not Amazon’s problem. This is a poor quality product. Do not waste your money.

What a joy to have sharp knives in our house after 40+ years! We're not normally given to extravagances, but so glad that we took the plunge. A wonderful set of knives!!

Love this set. Well balanced, sharp and stylish. Difficult to comment on value for money of as each to their own on what they expect for price vs performance. Good selection of knives in the set. Size of knives pretty good - similar to most sets at this price point. You get the versatility needed in this set for a a kitchen - probably won’t need another knife so all good. Function as they should. Lovely wooden grip but wooden block is close on finish but not a match to the handles. One BIG drawback was the kitchen shears were catching and wouldn’t always cut perfectly and after a few uses the snag area was pretty obvious A few messages later to Amazon and the supplier and it became evident that they couldn’t replace the shears alone it was all or nothing as a replacement. Not great environmental credentials. I opted for a slight discount to cover the cost of the scissors and I’ll look to see if I can sort these out. Suppliers service not great Tbh and I got caught in a bit of a loop with them. I’d give these a 3 star because of the non matching block poor customer service and the scissors.

So far so good! These eyes are super sharp, stylish, and not too bad on the eyes. The quality is superior, they’re easy to use. so far I have not noticed in any rush or oxidization. They were a little pricey, but you get what you pay for so I think they’re worth every penny. I did buy a separate sharpener just to keep them in shape. I would definitely recommend these knives!

Ich bin sehr zufrieden mit dem Messerset. Habe nichts auszusetzen und die Messer sind alle außerordentlich Scharf, sie liegen gut in der Hand und scheuern bei langen nutzen nicht. Top Kauf für das Geld.

This is an absolutely BRILLIANT set of knives! I was looking for a quality “Japanese steel” knife set that had everything, and I searched and searched the internet until eventually stumbling upon these Hoshano knives for sale on Amazon. The set has every kind of knife you will ever need for the home kitchen in a nicely arranged wooden block, including a Santuko knife, a long thin filleting knife AND a decent pair of bone cutting scissors for dissecting chicken carcasses etc. They balance well in the hand and are very comfortable to use, and having the wooden handles they just look a million dollars as well. They definitely have a super sharp edge too. Yes, as soon as I got them I tried the paper cutting technique and they sliced through the paper, no effort at all! They really are a beautiful looking, beautifully crafted and well rounded knife set that will last for many, many years to come. If you want a super nice, high quality knife set with bragging rights (like I did), I highly recommend this set for you! For the price it was a no brainer and I couldn’t be happier with them. Furthermore (if you really want the cherry on top) to complement this beautiful set of knives, look for the matching 6 piece steak knife set, which makes this WHOLE set an absolute 10/10 winner!!
