Great kit that out-does price point by mile
For the price point - this should get 10 stars. Everything is of good quality, is packaged with care and most of the products make this bundle a steal - none of the half-dyed saddles or maribou like most affordable options. In fact the maribou is outstanding for tying all variety of leeches or most streamers. The only thing that won't stand up to top shelf are the peacock herl - but that is beside the point as you know. I would highly recommend this kit to any beginner with plenty of hooks, beads, wire and want-to. You'll be able to spin a litany of flies and streamers - while setting a bar for quality. Tight lines.

Great value and perfect for beginners.
If you are like me and new to this whole process, you have watched the videos and read the blogs and talked to people trying to get information as to what to buy. Once you get past the "material snobs"it comes down to options. This "kit" has plenty of them. I was amazed as to how much stuff was in the package and how well labeled it is. In this case it is well worth the cost. While perhaps it may not be the highest quality. I wouldn't know and at this point don't care all that much. It's plenty good enough to get started with. If you are looking for a gift for yourself or a "newbie" and want to save a lot of time and frustration, give it a try. You won't regret it.

Good for getting started if you are not set on certain patterns.
If you are getting into fly tying and you want to build a collection of materials this is a decent pack. The dubbing is practically useless, the marabou is pretty decent, the rooster hackle is not very useful but there are a decent number of good feathers. Peacock hurl is good and the rest of the feathers are good too. When I got into fly tying I wanted to tie anything and everything and I would often come up with ideas of something and then would tie it. That is one of the joys of tying, tying something that you came up with. While this is not the most orderly way of tying and I would not recommend that method to new tyers, it is something you can do. I still have a good number of these feathers and all of the dubbing after about 5 months of use. Lots of bass bugs have been tied. All in all this is not a horrible package but I would like to see better starter packs being sold online.

Great value and great customer service
I get out fly fishing about 80-100 times a year and go through a lot of flies. I'm also on a budget, so I can't afford to drop hundreds of dollars at fly shops. The amount of material that comes in this kit is pretty insane for the price. Staple materials for many nymphs and streamers, and supplementing this kit with a cape and some elk hair from a local fly shop will allow you to tie a very good variety of dries as well. With a little creativity with materials, you'll be able to stretch this kit even farther. While not the absolute highest quality materials, if you are only concerned about tying flies that fish well and catch fish, this is a perfect, low cost option. This likely saved me from dropping over 200 dollars buying individual materials online or at fly shops. Customer service was top notch. USPS lost the package in the mail, and the seller fixed this issue by sending me a new package within a few hours of me contacting him. The package arrived in 2 business days during the middle of the pandemic. I will be buying this kit again, but it will probably be quite a while before I need to do so.

Not terrible, but not great.
I would just buy materials as I go and skip this kit. Found that buying materials as I found flies to tie is probably easier and find that the materials are higher quality. I haven't used much out of this kit, but there are a few things you can utilize while fly tying.

Great Value
As a beginner tyer was amazed how much product for the price. All the material was very good, there is enough to ty hundreds of flys. Definitely recommend and would definitely buy again.

Seems like more than enough for a beginner and of a decent quality.
I'm a beginner fly tier so take that into account. My initial impression of the materials is that they are of decent, to high quality and there is more than enough and more than I even know what to do with right now. I'm using it to learn how to tie a few easy midge and nymph patterns until I get more experience. My first midge looked rough but I think that can be chalked up to my inexperience, not the materials. In addition to this you'll want to buy some copper wire, hooks, bead heads and thread but this pack will cover you for a while as far as dubbing, hackle, feathers and other such categories of tying materials I am still learning about. It was packaged well and labeled which is crucial for someone like me just starting off. I recommend.
