Floating Hand Grip

Great for my GoPro Hero 12 Purchased along with a waterproof case to use underwater on our upcoming holidays The handle itself is solid plastic and comes with an adjustable hand tie and a solid screw to attach onto your camera (not the screw shown in the full picture - the screw provided is the one in the bag) The storage compartment is big enough for money and possibly a key also Can’t wait to use this when travelling abroad

Sturdy and works well with go pro 7 black. Was water proof on a few occasions and not waterproof on others... it may have something to do with the way I was tightening the base. Put it this way, I wouldn’t put an important document inside as you never know what could happen. To be honest though you wouldn’t exactly be going through your tax returns whilst snorkelling so I don’t see the problem. Unless you prefer to do your admin whilst floating in the sea face down. Then I would definitely not recommend this product. If however, you are looking for something to put a GoPro on whilst snorkelling or having fun times in water, even the bath, then this my friend is for you!!!!

I recently bought an Osmo Action 3 to record holiday and family adventures. This piece of kit has proven to be the best value of all the add ons I bought. It really is go anywhere robust and versatile as a hand held both in an out of the water - if I dropped it when kayaking or snorkelling, it just floats to the surface, the yellow plastic being easy to spot. The waterproof 'inner chamber' is an added bonus - the end just screws out (two rubber ring seals) so you pop in your room key or any cash you may need for a post snorkel beer.

Arrived quickly and nicely packaged. The lanyard and thumb-bolt for the mount were packaged inside the handle. The screw cap is a good fit with a small rubber gasket that gives a good seal. The handle could be used for storing a bit of cash or a key perhaps, which is a great idea. The mounting is standard GoPro style and fits my cameras perfectly. I previously used a cheaper floating hand grip which, while functional, feels much flimsier than this one. This has a good grip and the lanyard is very nicely made with an adjuster so that it can be tightened around the wrist to further reduce the chance of losing the camera. I'm very happy with the purchase - it's not the cheapest floating hand grip available but, given the cost of these cameras, I think it's a good investment. Oh, and I did test it before using it - it does float!!!

Brilliant little tool for the GoPro, great for the water and to put a key inside.

It’s a very basic grip but much cheaper (and probably better value) than the official Insta360 grip. 99% of the time, it works perfectly well. However, the lock on the mount isn’t the best. There’s no danger of your camera falling off, but it will tilt up and down (annoyingly easily). It’s not a massive issue, but it can ruin an action shot - I found out about this the hard way after surfacing from jumping into the sea from a boat to discover my camera pointing downwards.

I purchased the Sametop Floaty to replace a standard (cheapish) yellow flotation handle that came as part of a generic GoPro accessories kit. Unfortunately the tightening screw had become corroded after immersion in the sea. Determined to get a good quality replacement for my GoPro Hero 6, I tried this device having previously been impressed with the quality of Sametop accessories. So far I have not been disappointed. As advertised, the Floaty handle has a stainless steel screw, a really good non-slip grip and a compartment for notes etc. Attention to detail is high with, for example, the two O-rings fitted on the screw-in base to ensure a good seal. The Floaty also has a quality fabric wrist-strap rather than the usual thin 'nylon string' used in other handles that I've used. UPDATE: I’ve now tested the Sametop Hand Grip both in a pool and the sea (the Mediterranean) using the GoPro Hero 6 and the Sony FDR-x3000 action cams and found it to be a really secure way of handling these cameras in the water. When let go, the base of the handle points vertically above the surface with the camera below the water as you might expect. For me, the grip’s bright colouring minimised the risk of losing track of the camera. I also kept money in the handle making sure that the cap was screwed fully home. The contents remained dry after several hours of use with no sign of water in the barrel. The fabric strap does get wet compared with the nylon type but dried quickly in the sun. So after some extensive use, I would recommend this to anyone wanting to use an action cam in the water.
